Alright, so I get Lost Odyssey for the 360 based on all of the people here pimping it.   Didn't bother to read any reviews, figured the Goozex peanut gallery was good enough.   I open it up and notice the disc came loose in shipping.   Wait no... 2 discs are loose.    Then I start pulling discs off the spindle and see there's 4 DVD's to this thing?!    And of course they're all supposed to sit on one spindle - so they made a game that requires a stack of media but can't afford the 5 cents extra it would require to make an appropriate case for it?

Is this some sort of joke, what the hell is on all of these things?

Oh, and none of the discs seem to be damaged.   But how in the world do you test a 4 disc title anyways?

Install each disc to your HDD. If it all goes fine, you can rest assured that th game works

Unfortunately I don't have one yet - have to decide whether it's worth it to go to a buddy's house to do this.

Are there any other 360 games that require a stack of media, or is this the only one?

Such a good game.  Enjoy that one.  I kept 3 discs on the spindle, and one of them in a paper sleeve with the manual.  The case holds 3 well enough, it's that 4th that keeps falling out.

Still, I hate to have them rubbing together like this.    Plus you have to take every disc out of the case if you want to get to disc 4.

I just did a quick search and found that Halo 3 ODST and Forza 3 are also multi disc games as well?    I didn't realize this was happening so much now, and it's a little annoying.    Sure gives the Blu-Ray player in the PS3 a boost in value - it's worth more than just watching movies now apparantly.

If I install all the discs to my hard drive will I still have to flip them?    Or does it work like where I could just leave disc 1 in and not have to deal with that?

You would still have to flip them.  No point in having more than 1 or 2 of the discs installed at a time, after testing they all work, since you don't need to eat up like 25+ gigs when you can only use 7 of them at a time.  Install like disc 1 and 2, so when you finish disc 1 you don't need to wait to install to jump into disc 2.

Blue Dragon has 3, Star Ocean 4 had a couple I believe, and be rest assured the 360 version of FFXIII will also. Considering it already looks like crap, I'll be getting the PS3 version.

Magna Carta 2 has 2. I never understand the whining about multiple discs. Possibly because I am old enough to remember having to swap out floppies in my PC. The PS1 and PS2 had countless games with multiple discs, often the best games on the system.

Lost Odyssey is one of the two best RPGs of this generation IMO, most definitely the 2nd best JRPG of this gen. I would say if the discs look fine, you should be okay. Out of all the copies I see at the game store of Lost Odyssey, I rarely see any scratched discs.

Multi disc doesnt bother me.  But I've had so many 3 to 6 disc games in my life that its a norm.

Curious, what is the 1st best JRPG? (This thread has got me interested enough to request LO)

Also, you may need to boil disk 4.  Google it.

I never had to do this with my copy.  Shesnrice finished LO a long time ago, but I won't trade it out until I've at least played it.  I don't want to risk getting a non-working copy.

G-Nitro - is there footage of FFXIII on the 360?  I plan on picking it up for the ps3, but I was just curious.

My guess is Tales of Vesperia.  It is by far the best Tales game I've ever played and one of my personal favourites.

TECHNICALLY, Disc 4 was supposed to be in a paper sleeve that was originally kept behind the manual.  The spindle is only meant to really hold 4 discs.

Here's what I do, buy a pack of slim DVD cases and keep the other discs in there.  It takes up more space on your game shelf, but it keep the discs separate and well protected.  I prefer the green slim cases to match the rest of the games.

Just going off what was shown at E3 for 360 compared to PS3 footage.
