The thing that worries me a little about the router is that the all the settings got reset to default. It's gone without power for days before and always retained the settings so I'm wondering if it's just nearing it's endlife and maybe that's why. That would be a bummer because it's been great to me for almost 10 years now. If it does die completely I may just try and find the same exact one on the internet
It's the first thing I try with my modem. It's a last resort with the router. It usually causes more problems than it fixes.
Had to do that a few times today with my router today. All is well once again. :D
I know with DD-WRT you can set your router to reset on a predetermined schedule to avoid this stuff. Also makes for a very cheap WAN gaming adapter.
