I have all three consoles but my favorite is PS3.
If a multi platform game comes out my first choice is PS3.
But there are some games which look terrible on PS3 compared to the Xbox counter part due to poor porting job or the developers didn't understand the PS3.
So I wanted to compile a list of games that you should absolutely not buy on PS3 if you have a choice of playing it on Xbox.
I do not have Xbox Live Gold. I think $50 for multiplayer is a ripoff for me as I am a gamer who doesn't enjoy multiplayer much. So please refrain form posting games here just because they have a bad multiplayer. It is not a factor in my choice. And it is unfair to compare PSN with Xbox Live Gold as one is free and one is paid.
I say Dragon Age: Origins. He's really nice on PC, and he's a fairly decent chap on the 360, but on the ps3 he's just a selfish ass.
In all seriousness, though, I did prefer Devil May Cry 4 on 360 to ps3. It was odd to me, as it was supposedly made for ps3, then ported over before release, but it only goes 720p on ps3, while my tv showed it as 1080 on xbox.
Ghostbusters would be one to avoid if you had the option of playing on either. It may have been patched and improved since I played it earlier this year, but the resolution was terrible compared to the 360 version.
Orange Box is a better experience on the 360 - especially with the 360 version getting full support for Team Fortress 2. Everything is still playable on the PS3 but there is some noticeable slowdown and load times here and there.
Although i've only played them on PC, I did hear the PS3 ports of FEAR and Splinter Cell: Double Agent were abysmal.

Gotta go with Saints Row 2. I have owned it on all 3 (360, PC, and PS3) and the only one remotely playable is the 360 version. The bugs and glitches on PC and PS3 are pretty bad and I found myself constantly frustrated.
