I went to jury duty for the first time in years this morning; the last time I was told the morning of that I wasn't needed and didn't have to report. They selected 24 of us to be considered for a 6 person jury on a civil case. I didn't get picked, and although most people don't want to get picked, I was actually kind of disappointed. Being on a jury seems like it would be an interesting experience. It seemed like a semi-interesting case too: a now out of business auto dealership versus a customer.
Anybody here ever get picked for jury duty?

Same here.but for some odd reason really want to. Being out of work it would be the perfect time.Bet i get picked as soon as i get back to work lol.
I've received letters twice in one year, one for county and one for state. I have no interest in serving jury duty, thankfully both times when I called the night before they said I wasn't needed.
I have never been picked, but I was called twice within a 1 month period this year. once for city once for county.
I got my first jury summons last month and basically had the same thing happen, but on a larger scale. I would guess there were 300-400 people there, and about 50 of us had our names randomly chosen and we were told our duty was fulfilled and all that. I would like to do it sometime as well, but was kind of glad I didn't get picked becuase it was a kind of rough week at work.
The main annoyance I had was that they give you a $10 stipend, but parking was $16.
Got a letter for it, once, but I had moved out of the state. About two years previous to that.
I'd be interested in giving it a go.

My dad gets picked every year
I've never been picked. If I do I'll just wet myself in front of everyone and say I'm scared of crowds

I sat on a trial where an 18 year old kid stole a car and went joy riding with 3 friends. Got into an accident and killed two of them.
The whole process was extremely interesting. The judge would stop the whole proceedings to make sure everyone in the jury knew what was going on and what we can and cant do. I always tell people that if they ever get a chance to sit on a jury.

$10? They gave us $6. Parkign was $5.50 but the jury summons also serves as a free metro rail pass for the day, so I just took that instead. The trial I was up for would have been a 2 day trial; it owuld have been nice to have a 2 day break from work. Instead I got a 1 day break. I'll take it.

I think all of Washington state pays $10, so maybe $10 covers more outside of Seattle, but in Seattle the $10 isn't going to do too much. They also included a free bus pass, but our bus system is terrible and I think I would have had to get on a bus by like 6:15 AM in order to get to the courthouse by 8 AM.
I'm not a registered voter so I have never been picked. It would be interesting to sit in on a jury instead of being on the other side of one.

The DMV also provides lists for jury selection.
