Canada Post seems to be really slow lately. I'm a Canadian living in British Columbia (the province on the west coast of Canada) and even receiving a package from Quebec (a province on the east side of Canada) took almost the whole 3 weeks that Goozex allows for trades.

Also, shipping from the US seems to be either super quick or super long. I've received games from NY in a super short amount of time, like a week or two, but receiving a game from California took around 5 weeks. Thankfully it's usually closer to two weeks receiving a game from the US, so don't worry too much about it. The games will definitely arrive, they just might take a little longer sometimes.

Finally, a bit THANK YOU to all the Americans who send games to Canada. It really helps open up the availability of games.

Seeing that it's an international trade that does not have delivery confirmation available as an option, do I have any recourse if the Post Office lost the package?  I put both games into one package, so it'll be a double loss... =/  This was one of my first international trades, and at the time, I didn't know that I could use the customs number for "tracking" purposes, so I don't have this information available.

I'm a little surprised by this. I can get delivery confirmation for shipments to USA from Canada (I've done it countless times on eBay), I'd be very suprised it is not offered in the US.

And yeah, snail mail is indeed slow and delivery times are unreliable. I've shipped stuff to Denmark that was received in 2 days, and stuff to Vancouver that was received in 2 weeks. Go figure.

I've heard that customs in different regions of Canada have different speeds as well. I live in Southern Ontario and as of yet, I have yet to encounter the condition you have described, but I believe it. I've heard that customs on the West Coast is particularly slow at times.

It is a lot more expensive to get DC when shipping to the US from Canada.  I think it costs about $4.30 to send a game regularly and something like $10 to get DC on it.  The customs number you get is not a DC number.

To send from Canada to the US it's around $15 for Expedited Parcel and $25 for Xpresspost. Both have tracking.

I will probably close my trading with Canada during the Christmas season, because it has always led to trouble. Packages can take over 3 weeks during the holiday rush and I hate dealing with that. I'll re-open trading in January, when everything subsides back to normal.

Yes,  there is no remotely viable way to track a game with canada post

Not that its any use for games here, but they've just announce a deal.  If you use paypal shipping, you now get 25% off domestic and USA expedited (the 25% includes the existing 5% venture 1/business customer and 3% automation discounts).

Deals from canada post don't come often, so that pretty hot for thoe sending larger items.  one would need to commit to a contract for significant volume to get that rate otherwise

Always find the fear of  "Christmas delays" way over done.   they add resources to deal with it, even will delver parcels on sat the few weekends before xmas

Personally, I'm still sending out to canada, even with the christmas season.  If it takes over 3 weeks to get there, and the other person has to leave a negative, that's alright, I don't care.  I can show I sent it, via my customs number, and it'll get there eventually.  For a lot of games (I wouldn't say most, but for a good number) even if it takes 3 weeks to get in their hands because of customs (it usually seems to take closer to 1 1/2-2 weeks), it's still quicker for the receiver than if they had to wait in an only canadian line.

Besides, I like getting games from canada too.  How else would I get all the french manuals I tear apart and use for wrapping paper?
