Fallout Trilogy for the PC installs the trilogy to the hard drive and doesn't need the disk to play.  If you've ever been interested in trying the originals that started it all this is what you should try.  You get Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout : Tactics, and you can trade the game after you install it and you get to keep the games.

While that likely would work with those older titles, it's also illegal.  You no longer have the rights to the software once you've traded it off and should be uninstalling it.

Doubly so when considering such a great series.

You can do that, but you shouldn't.

Let's not pretend for a second that the original creators will be getting any money off of buying the Fallout collection, let alone trading it on a used game site (which is just as beneficial as piracy in the eyes of devs).

As far as I'm concerned, they're fair game, as is any software abandoned by its original creators, but I own both relevant Fallouts as hard copies and on GOG.com so I can pirate them as much as I want.

True, and it falls under the 'honor system' as no one is going to know you did it, but it would set a bad precedent to promote this simple act when it might work for other, more current titles.

Oh what a wonderful world we would live in if copyright law was optional based on personal opinion.

While we're pretending, let's also pretend that this discussion isn't against the Goozex TOS. Pizza

Fallout games are still commercially available, and therefore doing this is piracy and copyright infringement.

If you want to know why this is against the TOS of Goozex, realize that by encouraging piracy-like actions or condoning through inaction such behavior Goozex could easily get targeted and shut down by one of the more draconian agencies who are watch such things.

Thread locked and original posted reported to the G-team.

I take this crap seriously, and so do they.
