So I've got this 360 that's going to be my Xmas gift.  Small problem happened though - I was just matched for Modern Warfare 2 so it should be here in a few days or so.

I decided I'd make the Xbox version a priority so that I could use it to sample Live, hoping it would simply get here in enough time for Xmas.   Still like 12th active and 20th overall in line for the PS3 version, so now it's going to be sitting there torturing me for the next couple of weeks as I wait for Xmas or the PS3 version to get here.

Maybe I should get something else for Xmas...   Hmm

Maybe.  As it stands, you won't be able to test it or at least install it to the hard drive in time to leave feedback. Shouldn't be a problem on a game that just released, but luck'll have it that the one time you just look at it and assume it's fine is the one time it'll be a bunk disc.

On the other hand, that'd suck to get your big present early.

You could send it to me and I'll test it for you. Of course you'll have to send the 360 as well cause I don't have one

Normally this would work, but the oldest kid turns 6 this year.   She's young enough that she still believes in Santa, and old enough that she's not going to fall for some trickery.    So if I give it to myself early, it can't be considered a Xmas present.

That being said, I rarely play when they are awake and wouldn't play something like this in front of them anyways so I could just wrap up a few games for Xmas and she won't know the difference.   Or I can torture myself for the next month.   Neither is ideal.

Fairly certain this one is going to be good.   If I were to leave a negative,  I might end up sending it back to the person I received it from.   Stick out tongue

Yeah, you can trick a 4-5 year old easily enough too.   Not so much this age.   Last Friday I decided to let her stay up late.   She has this thing about "staying up until midnight", so we'd always lie to her and tell her it was midnight around 10 or so.    So it's about 10:15 and I tell her that she made it until midnight and she's correcting me telling me it's only 10.     No way I can pull that off this year.

I had kind of the same dilemma. My youngest had a birthday the 9th, and is getting the MW2 bundle for Christmas. It is HARD to let that thing sit in the closet, knowing a fresh copy of MW2 is sitting there, while I play the PS3.

I usually tell the kids that I asked santa to get more for my kids instead of myself and that is why I didn't get anything.... *hint hint*

Or just tell her Santa is bogus and be happy you are getting anything in this economy. Big Smile

Than crank up the volume on MW2 to drown out her sobs. Storm

WOW That must suck.

Oh, and to solve your problem about the game. If you have a freind who as a 360 have them test it out, or (this idea is unlikely) ask GameStop to try it out,

Just tell yourself that its a birthday present so christmas will not even factor into the equation

Or tell them Squanto dropped down the chimney and left you a Thanksgiving present.

That's pretty much how it worked when I was younger.  My parents never got anything from Santa themselves that I can recall, but rather from other family members.
