wow, that's quasi-fascist/ Big Brother crap.  just my opinion, given the free speech I am allowed in this country and all.  it was obvious that he changed the quote, he wasn't trying to claim someone said something that they didn't really, it was a joke clearly.

Is there some guideline posted somewhere that I can read up on the rules of using the quote feature? I understand that taking someone's quote and changing it to make it appear as if they've said something they didn't is against the rules, but I was not aware that any other uses of that feature are not allowed. This was not covered in the forum rules.

For example, am I allowed to quote a website?

I haven't heard of Surf II in years upon years. Never actually saw it but have heard of it. I'll have to check it out on youtube. I can't wait until it's my turn to pick. I would love to see what whoever picks for me!

1. This is a privately owned website - free speech does not apply
2. The owners of the website have had their quotes changed in OFFICIAL threads - humorously, not out of malice  - but that caused them to ban the practice of changing or falsely attributing quotes.
3. You can quote an outside source just fine, but you can not put words in people's mouths or alter their quotes. You can selectively quote them: like so:

I was under the impression that the discussion would start today, Monday. It wasn't specified which Monday. Although I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, I've posted the link twice so that others with more free time can do so.

I'm just trying to keep the discussion on topic to a degree, as when everything is contained within one thread and you have two or three different groups of people talking about two or three different movies, it becomes near impossible to follow without scanning through pages of posts trying to follow a particular conversation.

Are there any requirements to joining? Like swearing an oath in blood, killing a man, anything like that?

Awesome! So there's this great movie based on a little known video game series, perhaps you've heard of it? Super Mario Bros. It stars Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo, and may just be the greatest movie ever made!

Okay, but in seriousness...I shall watch de film. :P

Haha this has progressed nicely.

And mafafu: I'm badmouthing certain aspects of his handling of TDK, not him in general.
Batman Begins and Memento were better in my opinion. I just think its crazy when people say Nolan is their favorite director when he hasn't made anything that could be considered a "masterpiece." I used to think he was awesome until I re-watched his movies, and I get why people say that - hes a visually striking director (not the way he looks, but his movies).

I would like to join.  You should put the title of the movie that needs to be watched this week in the first or second most of the thread.  Also shouldn't the first rule of Film Club be to not talk about Film Club??
