IT'S NOT TOO LATE! ANYONE CAN JOIN!

Welcome to the Goozex Film Club!

How it works:

1. Every week, a different user has to pick a movie for the club to watch, following specific guidelines (For example: Best Picture Winner, The 70's, Based on a Novel, etc. etc.).

2. You acquire the movie and watch it within the week.

3. At the end of the week, you and your fellow Goozex film club members discuss the movie.

4. A new movie is picked and the cycle repeats.

Some notes...

1. If you've seen the movie already, you don't have to watch it again. Having already seen it, you can still discuss it if you'd like.

2. If for whatever reason you can't participate, no worries. I can't force you to watch a movie. Also, there's nothing wrong with watching the movie a little later than you're supposed to.

The discussion topic will hopefully go up Monday 11/23. Try to watch the movie by then.

is there always a requirement? and for next time - he / (igorp) gets to choose his own requirement and gets to select the next movie - correct? because I would like to know how this would work for next week - this is getting interesting. I kind of like the randomness of  this whole thing if that is how its going to be. This might be fun.

I used a random number generator to choose who would pick the first movie and I gave him the requirement.

Igorp wouldn't pick the next movie, someone else would, but it's not a bad idea to have him pick the next requirement. I never thought of that.

That'd be a good idea, just having whoever selected the current week's movie to select the requirements for next week's movie. Just be sure to keep the requirements fairly generalized, it would defeat the purpose if someone and said "favorite movie with * actor and * actress directed by * in the year *"

thats what I was saying -  he should pick the next requirement and the next person in line for their movie and that is how it should go from week to week

I think it might be a little more interesting that way

Also, one should not be selected to pick the next movie unless they discussed the movie last week, in the inevitable case of someone leaving forever.

It isn't Netflix, but that's where I catalog the films I watch.

In the event of someone not picking a film when they are supposed to, if that ever happens, I'll pick one.

I overrate on that too. I don't know why.

If any of you don't have a criticker, I highly reccomend it. It pretty accurately determines whether or not you'll like a movie. In fact, I can only think of one or two instances where it was way off.

My dad has the beta copy, and I love purposely cheesy films. I nearly said Bob Roberts, but decided that TIm Robbins is not an obscure actor or director. Oh, and can I go ahead and choose the next theme? If so, I'd like to see someone suggest their favorite bad movie.
