Must own PC games - what's your favorite?

I can somewhat understand their sentiments. If significant changes were made to the game play and physics so that it doesn't "feel" right, then it just won't be as fun to play. If you've still got a strong community around you to play with, then by all means enjoy your game.

For me, that happened with Tribes. Tribes 2 came out and although it wasn't really a bad game, they made certain changes that ruined the game play to me, so I stuck with the original. Then they came out with the travesty that was Tribes: Vengeance and ruined any hope of the series making any progress.

New players, though, yeah, they should probably just play Source. I never really cared for CS in either case, though I did prefer Source over 1.6.

I just got a laptop that can handle the average PC games of today. I like Rollercoaster Tycoon 3, Sim City 4, Battlefield Heroes, Rumble Fighter. I am more of a console guy though, so I won't play much on my PC.
