I sent out a game that was received today and I packaged it in my own way.  Which is an envelope without bubble wrap but the game disk itself I covered in paper and made sure it was tight in the disk case.  I have done this every time and It always works.  I get positive feedback every time.  This time however The case came cracked and I got Neutral feedback.  I have a feeling that a little layer of bubble wrap would not have saved it.  Do you think this is worth Neutral feedback? Or is it the shipping company's fault?

Thanks

This doesn't fall under any of the 3 reasons for leaving neutral.

I requested a "Full Package", but received only a "Disc + Manual"

I requested a "Full Package" or "Disc + Manual", but received a "Disc Only"

Insufficient postage

at worst you can get a +5, unless the game doesn't work.

However I'd highly recommend  using Bubble mailers. because if a game/movie is damaged in transit due to improper packaging it could very well be your loss in a dispute.

The game plays fine.  The person I sent the game to is giving me negative feed back for not sending the full package only disk and manual.  I sent everything, it just got damaged in the mail.

Now I'm confused. Is he leaving negative or neutral?

This seems like a slippery slope. If FP was sent, but the case was destroyed in the mail, I guess in the most literal sense it can only be sent back out as Disc+Manual. Although we all have extra cases laying around.

You might just have to eat the Neutral on this one since, due to improper packaging, you'll probably loose a dispute. But you'll still get your points with a neutral.

From the F.A.Q: Goozex recommends that you ship your items in a standard bubble mailer for maximum protection. The mailer can be purchased at grocery, drug, office and other similar retail stores.

Anybody else have anything to add? my limited Goozex experience cache is spent.

I think it would depend on the degree to which the case is damaged. if it's just slightly cracked, no, it shouldn't be neutral. But if it's broken to the point that it doesn't hold the game any more, then a neutral is perfectly justified.

Also, are you completely sure that you sent an official case, rather than just a genaric, replacement case?

also for Neutral feedback do I still receive my points right after I ship the game? I mean does that continue or do i have to wait again till I receive my feedback?

you still get your points for neutral feedback, but if the case got damaged in shipping, then dispute it. If you know 100% that there was nothing wrong with that case before shipping, you deserve a +5

Thanks for all the feed back guys.  I just figured out that it was a generic case.  I thought it was retail but it turns out I was wrong.  Sorry for all the trouble.

On a  similar note I received the Assassin's Creed CE and it didn't come with the figurine, and I requested the full package. This doesn't mean much to me but I plan on sending it back at some point. What type of feedback should I be leaving? Sorry to hijack the thread.

Unfortunately, all you can leave is a neutral and hope the seller isn't a d-bag, and will work towards resolving the issue

Thanks for the help. I might send him a PM to see if we can't work something out.

Nitro's dead on.  You don't have to eat a neutral on this, at all.  Does it suck that the game was packaged in a manner that caused the case to be damaged?  Sure it does.

However, if you sent everything you were supposed to, and it works, then +5 is as harsh as they can be in their feedback.  You could have purposely sent a broken case, and as long as it was there they'd be stuck with no worse than a +5.

Even shipping in bubble mailers does not prevent accidents from happening. I shipped a game in a bubble mailer and the case was damaged in transit. I was the original owner so I knew it was in A+ condition, but what can you do. Is it possible that you got neutral because you didn't send the original case, but instead a generic one?
