I liked the survey, and being that I play baseball games all the time, I felt it was right up my alley. I just wish there was more they could do to get us in touch with the developers, because if there's any kind of video game that has benefitted in the past from listening to customers, it's sports games.
I recall being a member of an online sports VG forum about 5 years ago and mentioning in a post that I thought that since the Xbox had a hard drive, they should make it so you could upload your own music into the game instead of having to listen to the music provided just by the game.
Next thing I know I got a private message from a developer telling me that after reading my post they decided to put that feature in, I guess, as an obvious exclusive for the Xbox since the PS2 didn't really have a HDD that could be easily used for such things. They hadn't even announced the feature anywhere, but the developer let me in on it in time for me to pick up an Xbox in time to take advantage.
That, surprisingly, was All Star Baseball 2005 -- an Acclaim game. It's surprising to me how many people who worked for Acclaim really did care about what they were doing, so it was sad to see them go for me, honestly. Hell, they brought us Burnout! Plus, they actually listened to the fans!
That feature has since been implemented in almost every sports game, but it was the first time it had ever been implemented in a baseball video game, so I felt kind of proud to have had something to do with that.
If you ask me, VG companies should listen to gamers more often, we know what we're talking about. Many of the developers for sports franchises rely on fan input because otherwise they wouldn't know exactly what needs to be fixed from year to year to make the game more solid, or whether or not they should scrap an engine entirely and start over with a new one. I know this is more of a marketing research type of survey, but it just gets us closer to where we should be -- telling the developers, as fans, what we want to see in new games -- especially recurring titles.

Great point Stoudman. One thing I can surely do is let VGMarket know about your feedback and I think they could benefit from including an optional "Comment" area. In that area hardcore fans of things like you with baseball games can give their honest feedback. This feedback could be shared directly with the developer -- a win-win situation.

If I remember right they actually did have a little comment box, and I left a little comment. I can't remember exactly, I could be thinking of something else entirely. I agree though, if the developer is interested then they should allow for that kind of feedback to be possible between the fans and the developers. Either way, I think this VGMarket survey is going to work out great. Goozers will like the free tokens, and the Survey site will like the targeted responses.
I've been saying for years that i could solve all the worlds problems in 50 minutes, and that includes commercial breaks. As look as they take my opinion as LAW then everyone will come out on top.
I got the email and took the survey, wasn't rough.
I missed this thread until today. I think once again it can't be stressed enough: There needs to be an obvious "announcement box" somewhere on the main page or forum home so that more people can opine on these topics.

If you take the time to read the thread.
The tokens offered for taking the survey will be given out once the survey closes and we see the final list of users that left their nicknames.
No survey for meeeeeee:( I would have liked to check it out though.
Please Zanna put this on beta test, and give future surveys based on the site or general video game genres
Friendly reminder...
Blah blah blah...

They didn't like me. 2 pages in and I got the 'You don't purchase enough Sports Games for us to care about your opinion' page.
Oh well.
I took the survey yesterday and enjoyed it. Still no tokens though, not that it matters, thats just a nice little bonus.
The poll has officially closed and we are gathering the list of nicknames that were left to credit the 2 token bonus. I will post here once the bonuses have been granted.
If you took the survey and have not expressed your feedback already, please post here or email us at marketing [at] goozex.com with your comments.
I enjoy those types of surveys and liked this one. I'd love to be a part of future ones, as well.
I wouldnt mind doing future surveys as long as they arent anti Canadian like this last one was.
