Question, I sent a game out to a user and it was returned to me saying that they had moved and left no forwarding address. It's been past the 18 day (I think it's 18) limit and I've received the positive feedback and I believe the trade is now closed. I messaged the user letting him know what happened and he gave me a new address to send to (I contacted him, he didn't contact me).
So if the trade is already closed, is there any obligation to send this game out a second time? I can't receive negative feedback if it was automatically closed by the system, right? I do plan to send the game anyway, I'm just curious about how the feedback works.
Ethically, yes, you are obligated, though you shouldn't have to pay shipping twice. What you should do, though, is write goozex about it. Inform them of what happened, and ask to send it to them. They'll reimburse you for shipping via trade credits of an equal amount. Then if the buyer wants his game, he can get it from them, and pay them for shipping.
On things like this, always keep goozex in the loop, for your own protection.
Well on one hand you already paid once for shipping. Doesn't seem right that you would have to pay again. On the other hand you did agree to exchange this game for points...
I'd say if he pays for shipping then send it out to the user.
He can get the positive changed to a negative for no game recieved. However, I'm not sure how goozex would handle it since you DID sent it out once already. In theory you should've had goozex for the return address, the game would've gone to them and you would've recieved positive feedback even though the game didn't get to the person.
So I'd have to agree with qwazel. If they pay for shipping, you should send it to them. Else, don't be surprised if you get an e-mail about feedback changing.
Maskim hit the nail on the head. The game should be sent to Goozex, that way you still get to keep your points and clean your conscience.
