Is there any way we can get Kyle Orton back from Denver?!

My goodness, I'd even settle for Rex Grossman under center again!

My beloved Bears, what has happened to you?

Who?

I was talking about the "blockbuster" NFL trade during the offseason - Kyle Orton of the Chicago Bears + draft picks for Jay Cutler of the Denver Broncos.

If you didn't get a chance to watch NFL Thursday Night Football tonight (Chicago Bears @ San Francisco 49ers), I understand why you don't feel my pain.

Needless to say, Jay Cutler was extremely awful this evening.  He threw five interceptions, two of them right when the Bears were in scoring position.  This is NOT what Bears fans were expecting when they got their next franchise quarterback.

Though, I may have just answered my question - he is now a Bears franchise quarterback, so he could just be living up to the history of the position......

I'll trade you Matt Hasselbeck for Jay Cutler.  I'll even throw in TJ Houshmanzadeh for Johnny Knox.

I'm not even a Bears fan and it pains me....

I'd rather have Kitna or Brunell throwing my picks... They will do it for cheaper.

Whats funny is they were ready to run McDaniels out of town for making cry baby cutler upset.   ESPN even had to do a mea cupla because they were all saying he "lost the team" early on because of this.

Sadly, Cutler is the prototypical "has a lot of talent, we know he can be great" QB who lacks the brains, work ethic, and team spirit to be a true leader.  He will always be just a tease who will kill you when it counts.  Even more so than Romo.

Orton is never going to set the world on fire, but at least he isn't a big headed cry baby. And isn't his salary much cheaper too?

No doubt, but he's due for a contract extension.  It wouldnt surprise me to see him approaching Eli Manning-esque salary simply due to his winning record.

For the record, I was sad to see Orton go.

Good for Kyle Orton.

Its amazing what winning can do for you.

Especially with a mug like that...

He's been winning ever since he became a starter for the Bears...  can't say the same for Jay Cutler. Hmm
