I have also watched CNN while they make fun of anyone who disagrees with the current administration. I am a conservitave and have never felt like I have been called so many names by any presidential administration before (though most came from the house or senate to be fair).
I have seen the journalists on CNN laugh as they mention the "Teabaggers". I actually agree with the Tea Party. I hated the bush bailouts, I hated the Obama bailouts. The only coverage I saw during the main Tea Party rallies (on CNN) is when Anderson Cooper reffred to them as teabaggers. Now that was journalistic excellence. No left lean there at all. And I have not heard about the memo yet.
I do know that they coached them on what to say which in and of itself is not a bad thing depending on what they were coached to say. And I don't think that Fox staged them as that implies they were the masterminds behind it and the events were actually fake. This to me sounds like denial. I did read about it in a non fox news paper with pictures of huge crowds for days. the newspaper was not conservative at all so.... I do have my doubts that everything was staged. Did Fox encourage it? Heck yeah they did.
I actually stopped watching CNN during the campaign. It was to much Obama love. During the public forums on healthcare, CNN was calling the people unpatriotic for disagreing. Source: I was watching it.
there was not this amount of Fox bashing until the president said something. Now it is everywhere.
And speaking of networks appologing, didn't Chris Sanchez have to publicly appologize to Rush Limbaugh after falsly reporting that he said those racial slurs?
And yes, Fox news is the number one news network. But word on the street is that all the people who watch it are nuts, delusional or just plain stupid anyways.... Why else would so many people watch such a horrible shame of a "network".
And while I admit to being one of those who will turn to Fox news first, I get most of my news from NPR. I think they do a good job of just getting me the facts without any baseless name calling.
And I usually only flick between CNN and Fox so I can't comment on any of the other stations as I never watch them. I don't know what channel they are on and they arn't important to me anyways. And yes, most of the stuff is opinion pieces, but that is what CNN has as well.
I don't think you can have a 24 hour news station that ONLY has the news or else it woul drepeat all the time and it would loose viewers. Even the Weather channel has programs that are not about the weather.
History channel has about 20% history on it and cartoon network has other non cartoon shows. I don't see a problem with having opinion pieces and news.
What was this thread about agian? Sorry OP.
Hexpane: FN is also owned by rupert murdoch, who owns NYPost, Dow Jones, Wall Street Journal... NYPost is currently being sued over sexual harassment, discrimination etc.. over firing an editor because she objected to the NYPost cop shooting a monkey and implying it was obama. The documents in that suit released so far show that the EIC was brought over personally by Murdoch, and that the entire purpose of NYPost was to "destroy obama" according to this EIC, (NYPost loses tons of money) and their defense that a cop shooting a monkey "we didnt' know it would be offensive" despite the history in the USA of racist caricatures of blacks and monkeys going back hundreds of years in the print media AND an editor voicing objecting BEFORE it was published. They published it anyway, then fired the objecting editor.

The cartoon was certainly in bad taste...and I wouldn't have printed it....but I don't recall any outrage from liberals when thier fellow travellers spent the last decade portraying Bush as a chimp, which makes it hard to care now that your Teleprompter Jesus is taking his turn in the barrel.
There's a difference between portraying Bush as a monkey which was a statement about his intelligence and portraying Obama as one which has clear racial overtones to all but the most ignorant perosn.
Onion News > Fox News
PSWii60 Elite: Onion News > Fox News
The news my son tells me from his school is > CNN
News source not owned by large corporate conglomerates > corporate conglomerate news source
Aren't they all owned by large corporations? (except NPR)
How about Colbert Report > then all news source?
@ derekjr
Dude the tea party movement called themselves teabaggers. Which to us Liberals who feel that the GOP is completely out of touch with modern day life i HILARIOUS! They need to lie in that pile they created. Oh and Anderson Cooper sucks.
Also I have MUCH less of a problem with the GOP when they stick to fiscal conservatism. Unfortunately there definition is currently No Money for poor people and Lots of money for War. Which kinda blows. It's social issues that REALLY piss me off about conservatives.
Hating on Muslims and gays and other minorities is terrible. If the GOP stayed out of personal issues that normal human beings have then I'd be perfectly happy. Also the GOP is completely hypocritical. Obviously being a GOP member and a conservative can be different. But did you hear that the GOP National Comitttee Health plan covers abortions? I mean come on can you get an more hypocritical?
Also Fox News is complete garbage. Maybe the news part isn't but everyone you can name on that channell by the stations own admission is not news but Opinion. Of course this goes the same for Keith and Rachel who I happen to agree with.
But all in all "Conservatives" need to go and be "conservative" on issues that don't screw over everyone else. Fine if you don't want taxes thats cool but you can't get the benefit of nice parks, road plowing etc. GOVT waste is a big problem but some taxes are neccessary. You can't not want to help a single mother on welfare and then wonder why she needs an abortion after her 6th child that she can't feed.
Gary Johnson For President 2012!
Actually, I am a conservative but dislike both GOP and the dems. I don't think the gov should give anyone money as a handout. They should stick with running the country and that is it.
States should be incharge of more things, though I think that the only time the state should step in is for temporary job loss. The other would be for food for poor families. No other money. No one should feel good getting anything free from the govt.
I do believe that tax is necessary but I do not agree with how much we are taxed nor with how much we will be taxed to cover the health care bill. One state is trying to put hidden taxes on fast food!
As for the health care, It would be cheaper to build clinics for the uninsured to go to. They can then work off their medical debt. I should not be expected to pay for my medical cost as well as someone else (via taxes)
Also, I believe in a flat tax. Everyone taxed a same precentile. (I also believe in term limits)
In the last major election, I voted against everyone who was currently in office no matter what party they were in. I only voted for one person who was currently in office as I thought his record was good. He was a democrate (I am Republican, though I am more indipendant).
And not all conservatives hate muslims and gays. Most conservatives I know disagree with homosexuality, but they do not hate them at all. There is a difference hate and disagreement.
Lastly, what was with the bold?

Tiberius2: chris100185: There's a difference between portraying Bush as a monkey which was a statement about his intelligence and portraying Obama as one which has clear racial overtones to all but the most ignorant perosn. You mean perceived intelligence...Bush had a higher GPA than both Gore and Kerry, so by that standard they are retards, especially Kerry who attended Yale at the same time Bush did. But actually, the intent of conflating Bush with a chimp is the same as what you accuse people portraying Obama as a monkey of doing (and in some cases you're right about that, but by no means all).....portraying the target as less than human to justify not treating him with even basic human decency.
Intelligence and knowledge are two different things. If a person could... say, solve any math problem ever, that would not make them fit to be C.E.O. of a major corparation. In response to the monkey matters, I belive the comic either intentionally racist, written by a completely clueless dude, or just some guy trying to stir up some controversy.. But I digress. The thing that irks me the most about this is that the people who write this stuff also seem to think that not only does he have the mind of a homicidal chimp, but that he is a communist mastermind who is destroying the country and a lazy slob who has done jack**** since he was in office.

So you believe that a single mother who is now pregnant with a 6th fatherless child is an example of social programs working? I personally wonder why she keeps getting herself knocked up with dudes that don't want anything to do with it, and why you think the only options here are the government shelling out a bunch of cash or the child being terminated due to her incredibly poor decisions.
