Blackcoyote: The point is that if you trade out a 1000 point game it is currently treated the same as a 100 point game. The question we have is if that is good policy. One argument is that the member that trades "hotter" games and movies should be rewarded with a better feedback score than the users that may only trade 100 point items. Sorry for not making that point up front.

I don't like this idea. First of all, we already get people asking, "is sending a 100 pt game really worth it?" For a lot of people, especially new users, the biggest advantage of sending 100 pt games is boosting your feedback, and getting comfortable with Goozex at a "low risk". Secondly, the reward for sending "hotter" games an movies IS the points you get for them, not the feedback.
Just my opinion, and I didn't read past the first page, so sorry if this was already stated.
I'm going to pile on and agree with the masses here--just a plain bad idea.
Until I've acquired my vet badge, in about 10 trades, you may do nothing to change the amount of feedback I receive.
After that, do as you will.
Lynchcrew: Isnt getting a 100 pt game in perfect condition more "difficult" than getting 1000pt game? I expect the 1000pt game to pretty much be perfect, if I get Planescape Torment in perfect condition Im MUCH more impressed. I think the current system is fine.

I have to second this. I'm a new-ish user, but this definitely makes sense.
killmak: I usually only trade out 1000pt games and I dont feel that feedback score is a good way to encourage people to trade out more newer games. You could have a draw where anyone that trades out more than 3 1000pt games in a month gets a chance to win a new game similar to the refer a friend draw. That is something that might get me to trade out an extra 1000pt game early to get in on the draw. Anyways there are other things that should be looked at to encourage people to trade out 1000pt games and this is not one of them.

Killmak for president in 2012!
madfigs: It seems like you'd be severely punishing the people who trade old games (and movies, pretty much) and barely rewarding people who trade new games. It may just be personal bias since I'd have a feedback score of about 100 with this system, but I'm not a big fan.

I'm more or less of the same mind here. I pretty much exclusively trade last gen and older game because I can't afford any of the newest consoles. Because of this I have very few high point value games, and the amount of points I earn for each trade averages at about 300 points. I also agree with the majority of people here in seeing the feedback system as reflecting the the reliability of a trader. Something that's completely irrelevant to point cost of each item traded.
This is another reason for users to ask "if it's worth trading 100 pts items."
i think nothings wrong with it, just leave it as it is.

I voted it doesn't matter. I'm apathetic towards it because it doesn't affect me and my trade slots.
I'd really be against it if I was a new user. I traded lower value games at first because I didn't want to get screwed over.
I think the point total should be the only motivation a trader needs to trade hotter items.

That's a good point. There are already many users who refuse to trade 100 point games because of shipping costs. A change like this to the feedback system might push more users into that camp.

First off I would like to thank Blackcoyote and goozex for sharing this with us. I think this is exactly what goozex should do before implementing a huge change is to get feedback prior because in the end it should always matter about us (the customers).
However as I stated I don't like the change. I don't think it will accomplish what you are looking for and I believe it will gain more negative feelings than positive.
Pm me your email addy for Lockerz invite have 9 left redemption coming soon
I think it is fine the way it is. Like others have said, just because it is a newer game does not mean the responsibilities are any less.

Just so you know I will add this to the list I am keeping of the bad ideas you guys have. See it is a good idea to talk to the community about ideas you guys have. Now would you kindly tell us about all the cool awesome promotions you are thinking about having.
Isn't a trade a trade? Why put a feedback score based on the item itself? If that is what the buyer wanted then that is that, let it be 100pts, 500pts or 1000pts. The idea of feedback is:
That's it!
By doing a feedback score based on pts you are pretty much saying that unless you always buy new stuff and trade it almost instantly you are meaningless to this site as only the people with a lot of money can afford this constant high end trades (almost sounds like Ebay to me).
I think that you would also pretty much kiss goodbye any trades that are 100pts value as no only are they not worth much to some to start off with but now you would put a low feedback as another hurdle to have more of these items available.
What about movies? New stuff yet lower point value? No this wouldn't work at all and I completely disagree with the idea.
What I do agree is that there is some modifications that need to be done to the feedback system itself when it comes to giving neutrals. In the last months we have seen too many issues suggesting that neutral or even the low end positives should be change to something more accurate.
I would never trade a 100 point game for just +1 feedback SCORE! HELL NO TO THE CHANGE. KEEP IT AS IS!
