This happened over the weekend in Boston on the orange line. One of the craziest things I've ever seen.

Crazy? yes, but I find this one far more disturbing.

That is quite incredible then.
I rode the "T" a billion times in the old days, I'm shocked this didn't happen 1x per week. People stand right on the edge of the platform constantly, and at night, the drunks are all on the T.
As a young kid, we jumped the "3rd rail" a few times to get a free fare. I stopped doing it when I thought about how stupid it was. The other kids liked the rush of jumping over something that could kill them instantly. I didn't get any "rush" from it.
Wow, close call!!!!
I dont get why neither of the two men tried to help her. Sure its great they waved at the train to stop however with it slowing down so much one of them should have jumped down to either try to pull her out or pull her further down the line to give the train more time to stop. Wouldnt it have been great if the train travelled 5 meters farther and ran her over when they could have done more to save her.

You're kidding right? Those guys did not have super powers, if the train had not been waved to a stop, 3 people would have died.
They did the *most* possible. Look at the footage, no human would have been able to jump down, pick her up, place her back on the platform, and jump back up themselves in less than 1 second.
Also note if you jump down there, and slip (it's all metal, and gravel) you could hit the 3rd rail, and die instantly.
Maybe my eyes deceive me, but I think she stepped on the third rail?
This reminds me of the time that I was working dispatch and John Travolta hijacked one of the trains. And then my wife had the nerve to ask me to bring home milk.

Well looking it took 20 seconds for the train to get there. Probably not the safest idea to jump down there and save her but some people cant just watch like that as someone gets run over.
I saw this last night too...
Did she touch the 3rd rail and does that have like a million volts of electricity running through it? If so, isn't this how super powers are formed? Money says she's out celebrating her close call, but will take the bus home this time.
Would love to have that train operator come work here on DC metro!
