I've regularly been patient with these things, and I know steam's been blown off before, but I just feel like venting a bit here. Someone's obviously spamming the buttons on the "start a conversation" button...otherwise we wouldn't have three topics regarding the same basic movie in mildly different format styles. I have a button on my Yahoo page that lets me get a quick glance at what's going on in the forums...gives me like the first 10 things on the forum list. Nowadays, I see nothing but convo starter topics. Most everything I'm interested in is buried two pages down, primarily due to these topic starters that nobody talks in. I've tried starting conversations with them myself, and they appear to be ignored, people are so used to the spam.

Will there be a resolution to this? I'd be happy even if there was a way to ignore posts posted by that service until at least one topic post has been made. In the end, though, if the button was changed so that if you were logged in, it would go to the forums directly, or if you weren't, it would show you how to sign up for an account...those would be plausible ideas that would still show new people interest in the forums, yet kill this slew of unnecessary clutter coming in.

Rant over. Thanks for listening. :)

I've been hoping a fix for this as well or atleast not let the topics show up under the main forums section.  These are very annoying.

I know a lot of other user's have been complaining about this as well but goozex has not responded as far as i know.

A shame really.  The easiest fix I'd imagine would be that the post doesn't hit the forum until someone actually makes an opening post (rather than make an entry as soon as the 'Start a Discussion' button is hit).

I don't know why this has been allowed to persist for as long as it has.

What if the delete the coding that allows it?  If someone really wants to start a topic on a game or movie, they can jsut start a new topic on it.

I don't think it would really take that much coding to make sure it only makes a post when someone actually posts something. I think it's more of an issue that Goozex has bigger problems to work on. I'm sure problems with actual trading (where they make money) are more of a priority than the forums, especially considering that the people who use the forums are just a tiny fraction of all Goozex users.

Your bat sensors are failing.  There is nothing hostile in that comment, it's simple fact.  I work with application development, every change request = cost money.

Even removing code cost money, you need to do it, then run through a QA cycle, do PQ testing etc...  And that's only after it passes a prioritization analysis.

We're you really being sarcastic?  I could see how one could take my original comment either way, and since people always call me "angry" on this board I've got a bad label.

It's not my fault Quinten Tarrentino has become a cheap hack and people hate me for it :)

Quick update: we have temporarily disabled the Forum Talks tab on the item page.

We are working on a few improvements, and we will reopen this feature as soon as we have fixes ready.
