Ive gotten a couple blu rays in as theres very little reason not to. I have a few HD-DVDs listed but no luck as of yet. Ill probably list a few of my regular dvds soon.

I trade movies all of the time.

Two complaints would be, 1. Make sure movies are added, there are some that are already out that is still not available to trade. 2. Separate hold lists for movies and games.

Good stuff I agree though consolidate some of the releases if possible...

And if any of you reading this are the people offering Rome season 2, the Sopranos 6.1 and 6.2 or Jericho please take them off hold for me(:

PM me your email for a Lockerz invite... still have 20 to give out for Z list status):

I agree on the consolidated listings, especially the checkpoint/sensormatic stuff.  Or make it more obvious when one is available when doing a search.

You also need to get more users who want my junky DVDs and who are willing to part with the blu-rays I want ;D

Seriously though, the poll is lacking a "I want to trade movies but there's not enough traffic!"  I have a ton of offers but almost no bites on the movies, and for requests a lot of the movies have had 0 trades.  I don't expect these movies to magically appear, but that's the only reason I'm not doing more movie trading.  I assume it will change over time, and being in Goozex now while it's getting started is a great way to maintain a good position, but I think it would certainly help to advertise more among some popular movie forums or movie websites (like blu-ray.com)

I take the two major complaints so far are:

1) Confusing listing with too many releases for the same movie

2) Limited demand or supply for movies makes it slow to trade a title vs games

Thanks all for the feedback. This is constructive and very helpful :-)

Is there any other concern? Like for example on pricing (point values), overall cost of trading movies compared to alternative, people holding longer on their movie library to watch them again, and such?

During release I requested plenty of movies, but to this day stay on the hold list 'til I feel I need to own them... I've only gotten two things so far in the "movie trading" region, however both being Season 1 of Heroes and Lost it provided me enough episodes to watch for awhile.

I sent out a lot of movies last month and most of them have been anime dvds (of which almost half went to G-nitro... :P). I'm actually already a member of a dvd trading club and I have plenty of credits there. However, there are certain aspects of this site that I like, so I've been requesting some movies from there that are in demand here so I could "transfer" my credits over. I've recently been requesting bluray movies here since they are scarce on the other site I use but I've also received some really good dvds as well.

My only complaint is the fact that some movies I have listed here, could easily be traded out on the other site. However, I'm sure that once the movie trading is advertised more, this may change.

I've been trading out some of my DVDs to pick up the bluray editions, when available. Gotta step into the future of what's currently recognized as "High-Def"!

This.

I'm just excited that I got first-in-line for Up on Blu-ray. (Actually, there's one on-hold ahead of me.) Come on, someone buy a copy and flip it! It's crazy cheap on Amazon right now ($10 if you buy a second Blu-ray).

Oh, one more recommendation for Goozex: region-free import Blu-rays should be offered in the movie listings as well.

For instance, Monsters Inc has been out for months in the UK, but was just released in the USA today. And The Goonies also has a UK release but still has no American version. Plenty of people import these videos (eBay has them in spades) and they typically work fine in American players so why not? I'd definitely put The Goonies Blu on my request list.

I think the blu-ray pricing is fair, as they're more rare than DVDs.  I think the pricing is a little wonky across titles that have multiple entries, but that would be fixed if they're consolidated.  For example, a seller is more likely to pick the version that's 200 points and the buyer is more likely to pick the version that's 100 points!

I do honestly believe that the low traffic is more due to the fact that movies are generally treated different from games.  You don't "beat" movies, and if you just want to watch it, it's 2 hours and rentals are plentiful.  If you're really into movies, there's Netflix.  And when people buy movies, it's to add to their library rather than to spend the next couple weeks beating it and then being "done" with it.

The only other concern I have is for box sets.  I think heavier items should get an extra few points to compensate for the more expensive shipping and alternative shipping packaging required.  I have no interest in shipping off a multi-DVD set that I have to find a small box for and spend an extra $2-3 in shipping for 100 points, for example.

So far I have traded out probably 4 or 5 old DVDs that were just collecting dust, and have yet to request any movies.  Having Netflix, I haven't really purchased many movies at all in the last couple years, since I rarely watch a movie more than once or twice.  I will request some Blu-Rays eventually, I just haven't really gotten around to it.

I'd like to reiterate this, as there seems to be really low points values on box sets, which makes me weary of trading out some I have bought due to losing not only quite a bit from what I purchased them for, but also quite a bit in shipping them out.

I might be hooking you up later this week if my Target accepts the coupon stacking deal that's been making the rounds here and on CheapassGamer.

This is the reason I still have my Lord of the Rings extended editions still on hold. They're only, what, 100 points each? Those things are weighty and I'd be on the losing end of trading those out...

Yeah, it's cheaper to just throw away the discs and buy 100 points.
