Installing now for PC.... Not sure how I feel about Steam. If I don't have to look for the disk great! If it saves my stats when I reinstall an os AWESOME! If I can buy DLC at the same time as consoles... wait... no free map pack huh... well... We better freaking get all the content then!

Cant trade it. But I likely will not trade it anyway.

Updates will be automatic right? that is a good thing. No more hunting servers wondering why no one is playing...

Seems like a mixed bag.

If all the pros work out I might not be too angry.

There's no reason to really complain about steam other than you can't trade it.  Beyond that, its an awesome distribution software that auto updates and makes everything easier PC wise.  Plus steam deals are insane sometimes.  Last christmas I got 60 games for 120 bucks.

These people must not live around best buys.  Both the ones around here have 20 to 30 prestige copies in stock on the shelves.

All of our GS are sold out of Prestige editions on the Eastern Shore of MD.

That's why I said Best Buy ;)

 

I cant even think of a normal reason why anyone would want or need the goggles......maybe it's just me

I had a set of NVG a looooooooong time ago, back in like 2000.  They are incredibly fun just to mess with people.

I could see there being plenty of use for them.   Of course, I have night vision cameras installed outside my house, so maybe I'm not normal either.

Man, i played a little of the story mode and its amazing how good IW is at telling a story w/o having to say much. They have effectively made me hate (what i presume to be) the main bad guy and actually care what happens to myself and the NPCs

I may break from multiplayer and check it out in a few.  I'm a little pissed that you can't complete party invites in multi - IW screwed it up but will have a patch out Friday to fix it.

Haven't tried multiplayer yet but the singleplayer is REALLY well done.  What an experience.  It's a shame it's so short (reviews said about 6 hours) but if the multiplayer is as fun as others have said it'll be $0.95 well spent.

It's not a typo, that's how much mine ends up costing me after selling the PS3 Prestige Edition on eBay.  Minus fees and with the ECA 10% discount from Amazon my PC copy ended up costing me $0.95.  I actually didn't get boned this time by buying something specifically to sell it on ebay for a higher price.  Last time I did that was on the PSP and all I did was break even.  (I may have even lost a few dollars, it's been a while)

Story mode is awesome. I have to stop playing but I cant wait to play more! Great job IW!!

PC feels the same as COD4. Was worried that this was a bad port or something with all the talk out there. Very well done very happy I got this on PC!

It is a bad port if you have any love of multiplayer gaming or replay value of your games.

Yeah the multiplayer is .... ok.  It's obviously made with consoles in mind and they didn't bother doing anything for the PC end except making run on a PC.  With that said I still had fun playng it tonight but I still would have preferred to pick my server since lag becomes an issue with 'matchmaking'.  Overall the mutiplayer is still well done but with only 12 people per map it feels kinda.....10 years ago.  One of the best parts of COD4 (the original MW) was being in those 15 vs.15 battles where bullets were everywhere and explosions and everything was crazy.  With 6 on 6 the intensity just isn't very high.

And yeah since it's Steam, the PC version is untradable so once it's yours it's yours forever.  Glad it only cost me a buck.

My 360 is having problems reading my mw2 disc. It says reading, then it says open tray like there's no disc inside. All my other games work fine. It'll work after awhile if I spam the eject button. Now to never turn off my 360 ever until I can exchange it D:

And that's what I was afraid of.  Even if I could swallow the BS that IW did to the game, the new one just doesn't sound that great MP wise.  With the amount of time they went backwards with this game, I'm surprised they didn't add a direct modem to modem option...

And I thought the PC version was 'locked' until the 12th?  Did they change this?
