Noticed they just put it up for ps3 i took the plunge yeah it's a lot on points but i would have been waiting well into next year for it. All my friends seem to be playing it now so it's worth it. This is hold me over for December gaming and then gamefly all the big releases in the new year.

I couldn't believe they were charging this much.  I am a huge fan of this site, but I think that is ridiculous.  And for those that don't think it's like paying $120 for a game, you couldn't be more wrong.  You are trading games and movies that are worth close to the amount of points they are at.  For example, Call of Duty MW1 is at 400 pts, and on the street it goes for an average of $20 shipped, so that equates.  Unless you're buying your games for a couple bucks at a yard sale or flea market and trading them in for 500 - 1000 pts, then you are definitely paying like $120 for MW2!  Think about this too, how much did you spend in shipping to accumulate those points?  If you ship a bunch of 100-200 point games, you'd pay A LOT in shipping to accumulate 2400 points!!!

Once again, it is an optional service and not mandatory to use. What it comes down to for me is, do I want to spend money or spend points and not dip into my wallet. So using the exchange makes a lot of sense when I'd prefer not to spend another $60. I'd rather drop 2400 points, which isn't affecting my wallet

Exactly. A lot of people would rather spend the points then the cash. Some people would not, which is fine. Because of my families financial state with a baby coming and my wife being unemployed, my games come from Goozex or whatever store credit I accumulate at GS/GC/Amazon.

And a lot of people do a decent amount of flipping, so they are getting a good deal, even at 2400 points. And even if they are not, if I get a brand new game, such as MUA2 for $60, and I play it and beat it and get my money's worth from it, I can trade it here for 1000 points. To me, I've already gotten my $60 worth, so I'm not losing anything, I'm gaining 1000 points. Match that up with trading out another 1000 game(Infamous), and a 400 point game(COD4), and I can get MW2.

Go to Game Stop with those 3 games, and are you gonna get much more than MW2? No. You might get a little more if you know how to work their trade in deals, but not a whole lot more. To me, helping out fellow Goozer's with good games is much better than getting an extra $5-7 in Game Stop credit

I get a kick out of the knee jerk response to the exchange.  Same thing being said on the CAG forum when it was brought up.  Some people have a stockpile of points and would rather spend them on this than spend money.  Plus, optional, in no way mandatory.  Don't rupture a blood vessel over it.

ARRGG!!!  Still out of stock!  I'm tempted to get it on PC because I have played all the other COD on there, but really wanted to try this one on the 360.

you guys do realize that's the equivalent of paying 120$ for it right?  I'm with the OP, why?

In my post, I was merely agreeing with the above users comment.  They got some flack for writing that, but no matter how you slice it, it is like paying $120 for a $60 game.  I do understand it's not mandatory and some people have thousands of points sitting in their accounts, so I do understand.  It's just that I don't think Goozex should be charging SO much for the games, a smaller premium would be more understandable.  On the other hand, from Goozex's point of view, the points have no value to them, they're just virtual currency for the users, so I guess technically they're giving the game away.

Me, personally, I would rather spend the $60, but as some users stated, they don't currently have the cash, so it's their only option if they have a long wait in the queue.

CoD MW2 only cost me 700 points Stick out tongue.  I grabbed three games off of Goozex that were worth a total of 700 points and sold them on amazon and ended up with enough to buy CoD MW2 new and had $10 left over.  It takes some work but saving myself 1700 points and having some cash in my pocket as well is worth the little bit of extra work.  People that trade 2400 points for new games on here are crazy but if they want to be crazy that is their decision and they have the right to be crazy people.

While I somewhat agree, in that I too will be hard pressed to ever spend 2400 on a title, it's not a TERRIBLE option.  I don't see how people are continuing to overlook the fact that it's exactly the same as if you were to take 2-3 titles to GameStop and trade for MW2.  You're not going to get much better of a deal from them, and in this case, you've at least sent the games straight to other gamers.

I seldom have a terribly high point balance though (floating around 5-6k lately), so a 2400 hit would make me feel REALLY poor again, so I tend to look for other methods of getting my games.  I'm pretty patient here as well, so I often opt to just wait for 'the next big thing' to hit for my console requests (happens fast) before I request 'the last big thing'.

If you get the right games from Goozex you can do trade 3 deals at gamestop where you trade in 3 games with a TIV of $9+ each and you can pre-order an upcoming game.  If you carefully pick the 3 games from Goozex you could spend anywhere from 800-1200 points plus the three trade tokens to get the game.  When you are done with the game trade it back into Goozex for 1000 points and rinse and repeat.  For games that you cant wait in the queue for this is an easy way to get the games you want without costing you an arm and a leg in points.

that's another thing, OK, buy game from exchange for 2400 pts (not gonna happen but for sake of argument) finish game, sell for 1000 or 1200?  granted goozex is a better trade in option than anywhere (assuming your game is requested) but in whose mind does this trade off make sense?

buy the game for 60 actual dollars, trade it for 50 or 60 worth of points, OK, I'm down, but wasting pts just b/c you have them makes me feel like the mom in those cell phone commercials where the family is saying, those are last months minutes, they're dirty...
