Most of the hate for Activision centers around its slimeball of a CEO who doesn't even attempt to hide his sleaziness. He has said, and this is a direct quote " I want to take the fun out of making video games" and He flat out admited that the reasons they dumped Ghostbusters and Brutal Legend was because they weren't franchises that could be exploited on a yearly bassis. Of course when EA picked up Brutal Legend and it started getting a fair share of buzz, Activision let loose a completely bogus law suit to stop the sales claiming they  still had the rights to the game.

Yeah he's a real nice guy.

Anyway to all the people who hate Activision but are still planning on buying Guitar Hero whatever and Call of Duty, if you don't like a company's practice's vote with your wallets, you really won't miss anything by skipping a one a year FPS. If you read some of Robert Kotick's interview's, he basically says *** you to anyone who enjoys video games and really there's no consequences for his behavior because people continue to buy their crap.

On topic, I dislike No Doubt too for their crimes against music and if I were king I would arrest all parties involved and have their testicles surgically removed.

"Excuse me Mr.", but please just "Don't Speak. Your turning these forums into a "Tragic Kingdom" covered in "Spiderwebs". I guess it sppeals to you more when you're "Sixteen". You know what, I think these references are more trouble than it's worth, so let's "End it on This".

I say we skip the references and get the guillotine if he fancies himself a king.

I really want to play it though. Which is why I like goozex. I can get the game and enjoy it without giving Activision my money.

First and foremost, Gavin Rossedale is a pimp.  Therefore, No Doubt is acceptable.  Despite these facts, it isn't Activision's fault if they act wtihin the parameters of the contract (and I believe they did).  It is the agents fault and probably partially the band's fault for not having this taken care of beforehand.  In conclusion, Activision has mad me a lot of money over the past few years in the market so in my book they rule almost as much as Gavin.

I just think it is funny that my posting this and noting that I thought it was a stupid lawsuit based on the actual "injury" ended up turning into a huge anti-Activision free for all.

The internet... where anything is three comments away from a flame war.

Back up, there is no flame war, other than you for some reason accusing people not happy w/ activision as being some sort of blind anti fanboys.  Then you suggest we IGNORE the history of the company when forming our opinion?

What was the intent of your posts exactly then?  There is no "huge anti activision free for all" in fact most people are coming in here and wrongfully assuming Activision makes COD and MW and defending them.

I've already listed the numerous items that activision has been engaged in which colors my opinion of them, and this lawsuit.

Your opinion is "it's stupid" which really adds nothing to the conversation.

Your obviously not in the right state of mind if you think the Beatles are irrelevant.

They've been irrelevant ever since the talented half died.

I hope Activision wins that one.  Maybe not for everything they're seeking, but it sounds very much that No Doubt is in breach of contract.  Also, if they indeed didn't request something until after the fact, they have no foundation for their original suit.

The only downside to Activision winning would be No Doubt would probably release a new album, then I'd have to hear their crap for a few months on the radio.

With any luck they'll both just agree to drop everything and go their separate ways.  This way the rest of us can stop effin hearing about it.  Just a bunch of stupid crybaby drama all around.

This seems like quite the mess.  I haven't really been following it that closely (or really at all), but I am curious to see how this impacts music games going forward.
