I loved Killzone 2, just traded it on here recently and I will probably pick it up again later.
If you like football, and really enjoyed Blitz : The League II. Has quite a few easy trophies too, I think I got to 65% or so on a single campaign playthrough. If you are squeamish though, might not be a good idea, as some of the injuries are downright gruesome, but it a very awesome way.
Recently I grabbed BioShock and BF Bad Company for around 400 each, and both are solid games from what I understand, and have a good amount of trophies.
Burnout Paradise is another great PS3 game for pretty cheap.

many of my friends own far cry 2 and ive played it many times and I really enjoyed it. plus, i love using the map editor which is 50% of the reason that i am getting it.
Surprised no one has mentioned MGS4. Great game for the points.
I also enjoyed Prince of Persia, that's worth 500 I think.

I would have enjoyed MGS4 if it was less movie and more gameplay, I didn't get past the second chapter before i traded it out, was a disappointement to me and i loved the MGS games previously.
I rented MGS4 and i thought that i was going to love it. It's a great game i just suck ass at it. when i play it, it isnt at all how the game is suppossed to be played. It just makes me look retarded when i play it.
I'll say this much... once I got the rocket launcher in MGS4, all stealth went out the window. The ammo shop kind of made the game too easy once you got overpowered weapons, since the only limit on ammo is Drebin points, and I never ran out of those.
yea i noticed that it was really easy that way. i may still get it seeing as the price has lowered to 30 dollars
