So I've been very happy to give some of that back to you guys as the PS3 caught up and IMO has now surpassed the Xbox as a single player gaming machine, what I use it for. Now that it's being given back in similar fashion, they get upset at this unfairly harsh criticism. Well, they kind of asked for it...

It just annoys the hell out of me when people start bashing systems. Its stupid and childish. Thats why I enjoy the Goozex forums for the most part, you tend not to see that to much.

Speak for yourself! I hold MUCH animosity towards it! So much in fact, that my sole motivation for purchasing it is to scream at it...face to f.... face to DVD tray!

I've never really bashed the Xbox system all that much other than making a few jokes about it breaking. Pointing out the the PS3 kicked it's ass badly in worthwhile exclusives this year isn't bashing, while not everyone will agree there's quite a bit of evidence to support the statement and I think on average most non biased observers would agree. GOTY voting this year is almost certainly going to agree. But you point out how the votes have gone in a poll relative to the consoles and oh no, you're looking to spark a console war. Personally I think the PS3 is a better product, I've been 100% happy with my decision and would make it again. And I do plug the PS3 a decent bit, but I don't hold any animosity towards the 360.
I have bashed Microsoft as a company though, and they fully deserve it. And not necessarily for what they've done with the 360, which even despite the hardware failures they've done a good job of servicing.
Bleh..lots of banter for a $100 console...even my wife isnt b*tching about it, so I know its almost too good to be true.

Well, all I know is this - here we are in a thread about an Xbox sale, where I've stated my intent to purchase one and you've alluded to me being a fanboy. And then suggest system bashing/fanboyism is childish. :)
If we are going to get into console wars I will start by saying I hate PS3 due to me not being able to afford to rebuy one at the moment and really wanting to play the new ratchet game :(.
Does Wal-Mart have one of those policies where if you buy a product and it goes on sale 2 days later, you can bring it back in and get the deal?
If so, could I but the 360 Arcade before the sale starts and then bring it back in after the sale and have my purchase changed to the deal?

I went ahead and bought one. For $99 it was too good to pass up. I probably will only use it for 360 exclusives and keep doing my online gaming on ps3 since I don't want to play for Live. Now i just need a cheap hard drive and an HDMI cable for it.
My local Walmart was fine selling it a little after midnight for the deal even though the sale wasnt supposed to start until 8 am. Now to request a 360 game!

try amazon marketplace for the HDD you can get everything much cheaper and a 20gig is only in the $30s
Also, you get a free month of live gold when you set up a gamertag on your console; might be enough to sway your mind about not wanting to pay for live
