As for the approach, I tend to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission. I'll be screwed the one time that doesn't work out...but that only creates room for kevlar51

Maybe I can sell my ps2 on ebay for some of that money back. 100 bucks for a 2 month old slim Baldurs Gate, Rogue Galaxy, Beyond Good and Evil, God of War 2, Black sound doable? probably not.
