Not trying to start a flame war, but, I want a new fighting game. I have a 360 and a PS3. I know the d-pad on the 360 is not very friendly for fighters. So, would it be better to get a fighting stick on 360 (for the achievements) or use the standard controller on the playstation 3?

Thoughts?

The games I am interested in are Street Fighter IV and BlazBlu

I bought the PS3 version of SF IV  for that reason. 8-way directional control vs. 4-way.

Yeah, plus it would give me a reason to go get my ps3 and buy Demon's Soul later!

Is that game as impossible as people claim?

and all the hardcore fighters play on ps3. Its the more international of the two systems. This is not my opinion as i have no idea, but it seems like the general consensus on the boards and forums that i check.

I've noticed that as well, especially on the GAF lately.

Is an arcade stick even necessary on playstation?

If you're hardcore it is a must purchase. BTW, i noticed your gamertag is vhs or beta. Is that after the band?

No, it's not. I think the people that make those claims are too used to beat-em'-ups where you just plow through the levels while hitting anything that moves. DS requires careful maneuvering and strategy.

It is indeed!Cool I discovered those guys when I was in high school and have loved them ever since.

Now, I'm really tempted to get DS because it looks really difficult, but very rewarding at the same time.

I'm also a bit torn about Borderlands. The premise sounds great.

I've been a fan since right before Night on Fire released. I love them, My fav song is probably Forever and Solid Gold. By the way, i haven't played DS either, but i'm 2nd in line for it. I've never been so siked to get my ass stomped.

I love Night on Fire and the Melting Moon.

But, I think this singer might be better than VHS or Beta?

The 360 controller isn't for fighting games in general, so I would side with the PS3 controller.  Communities, level of challenge, etc. is the same on both really, I have SF4 on PS3 and have Tekken 6, MVC2 on 360 recently.  I bought the SF4 MadCatz controller for 360 just for MVC2 and the controller makes the 360 now my system of choice for fighting games, but if you just want a game with the original controllers without spending extra on a joystiq or an additional pheripheral, then the PS3 controller > 360 controller for fighting games.  If you are buying an extra stick, get it for whichever, it would be the same.

Actually Saturn Confused

Anyways, out of the current consoles I'd say PS3.

Wild horses couldn't drag me away.
