To be honest, most of the arguing in this thread has little to do with the new rule itself, and is really an argument on when it is acceptable to hit "confirmed shipped." The debate does apply to the new rule though, because there's now greater incentive to hit "confirmed shipped" in a timely manner (or hit it at all).
I'm fine with the new rule and hope it encourages more people to confirm, because most of the time I'm completely unaware of whether they know they need to ship a game until it shows up in the mail.
Kameleon: Zenverse: I like the change and I think it's a step forward; however, it really won't do anything to deter scammers if they decide to hit and run after reaching instapoints. Considering the addition of the dvds, I think it may actually be easier to get to the > +20 feedback level now. I actually always thought the instapoint threshold was too low, so I would support an increase to said threshold. I really think it is something that should be truely earned for good service and I don't think just 3 positive trades is really enough to tell whether someone is honest or not. Raising the instapoint threshold would prove that the trader is honest and patient enough to be able to effectively use the site. I have been using this new instant match feature alot lately and if I have to wait to ship out my item out to receive my points then what I want may/may not be there when I return from actually sending my stuff out. Most of the time I do have enough points on hand to receive what I want but sometimes I dont and for those times when there is an instant match available then I would be inclined to click confirmed shipped right away just to be first and receive that item if I really wanted it. I would do this as well, with or without the Instant Match. If I'm low on points and it's late at night, I'm not going to miss out on a trade because I have to wait until morning to ship out an item. I'm of the opinion that this delay in getting your points should be lifted after a certain feedback score, just like getting your points before feedback is handled.
