I thnk that this a useless update. It really serves no purpos. I have had alot of trades that have arrived after the trade window was closed and many of them were confirmed shipped the minute that the trade was accepted. his sounds like a good theory but in practice it would be flawed.
Sometimes when I see something I want and I know that it is available by clicking on the trading info then I will choose to send something of mine out whether I am done with it or not. With the added new feature of the instant match if I see something that I want and I am first in line and I dont have enough points for it at that moment I might choose to send out something of mine and be inclined to just click "confirmed shipped" to get my points immediately so I can be assured that I will be the first to request said item that is available now for trading. I wouldnt want to lose an opportunity by having to wait to actually my ship item because of the few traders here wo dont send items or are just slow.
Also if someone is scamming the system or is just a lazy ass then clicking 1 extra button to get their points at that moment will probably not stop them anyways.
People bitch and moan when Goozex tries to make a change that will improve some areas of trading. People bitch and moan when Goozex doesn't make changes that will improve some areas of trading...You wonder why there's so much secrecy

This change doesn't affect me either way, nor will it change how I trade on the site. So this is one case I am not bitching or moaning. I just don't like people accussing others of being part of a problem, when they are not.

FYI it wasn't directed at you. I honestly can't believe such a small and relatively insignificant change has caused a lot of members to get their panties in a bunch.
G-Nitro:Then I have to go back, figure out which user's address goes with which username. It is easier and mroe efficient as a high volume trader to post the confirm shipped with tracking number as I pay and print.
Sorry, but this change is not about efficiency, it's about honesty. I understand it's inconvenient for you, but the rules are not in place for you and you alone. There is no "high volume trader exception."

You're confusing this change with the idea of "you get your points when you put the item in the mail." That's what i reads like on paper, but in reality it's "you get your points when you claim to put the item in the mail."
That's the points I've been trying to make since the first page and others are making as well. This change affects nothing because there are no penalties for confirming shipment before you actually ship the item (which is impossible to have penalties for because there is no way to confirm that something was actually put into a mailbox when the user said it was).

G-Nitro: Grenadier: mikehogl: I always click confirm shipped whenever I print the shipping label, no matter what time of the day it is. So in other words, you're part of the problem being discussed here, and an excellent example of why the system is needed, and why it is flawed. He is a part of no problem. I do the same thing, and it is then dropped into a mailbox within 12 hours. I confirm ship as soon I print out the shipping label because it is the most convenient time to do so. Check me feedback and how many items I have sent and then tell me I am part of the problem. Think before you speak and accuse others as part of a problem.

Thank you; although I don't have the 1600+ trades GNitro does, I do have a few. Plus, I don't want a user to try to cancel the trade if I've already paid for the shipping and packaged the game; it's going out.
But I am being honest. I have confirmed shipping with proof of having paid for shipping and providing the tracking number. Who are you to say it's dishonest? No different than someone throwing it in their mailbox and raising the red flag.
You can dislike how I do it, but you can also look at my feedback and know I'm not screwing anyone over. If you don't like the fact that this is how I do it, get the sand out of your vag and get over it. I'm nto changing how I process my outgoing trades.
I think this change would be a great addition if it wasnt for the new instant match feature. If I can instantly be matched to something when I receive my points then I will click confirmed ship right away to ensure that I am able to get that item. I have been using this new instant match feature alot lately and if I have to wait to ship out my item out to receive my points then what I want may/may not be there when I return from actually sending my stuff out. Most of the time I do have enough points on hand to receive what I want but sometimes I dont and for those times when there is an instant match available then I would be inclined to click confirmed shipped right away just to be first and receive that item if I really wanted it.

This is also a reason I do it. If I paid for it, I don't want to argue with a user who wants a cancellation.

I would do this as well, with or without the Instant Match. If I'm low on points and it's late at night, I'm not going to miss out on a trade because I have to wait until morning to ship out an item.
I'm of the opinion that this delay in getting your points should be lifted after a certain feedback score, just like getting your points before feedback is handled.

If you look at my feedback for games received, you'll find a negative left for a user that supplied a DC number but never sent the game. My point is that DC does not equal sent.

You can do whatever you want; you've accepted any risks and you are comfortable placing the burden on the buyer. Just don't advertise that it's the right way to do things. Because it's not.

There's nothing wrong about it. You can't prove when I put it in the mailbox anyway. I've put a game in a mailbox and confirmed on a monday. The DC# shows it finally being tracked on Wednesday. I did this when I sent you WET and it was there before the 3 day shipping option I chose was even up. So don't argue with me over whether may way is right or wrong. I tend to get my trades out quickly and efficiently and my feedback shows it.
I think it's funny how some people totally disregard what "Confirm Shipped" means.
"Confirmed Shipped" != "Gimme my Points".
If the intention wasn't to confirm the actual day it was shipped, it would have been called something else. I have no problem with this change. It won't stop scammers, but anything that makes it even a little more inconvenient for them will prevent at least some of them from bothering with it.
For the record: I've never been scammed on Goozex. One person tried, but using the feedback system appropriately has prevented them from succeeding,

Ironically I was looking for an official definition this morning. Unless I'm missing it somewhere from the G-Team/FAQ/etc., right now it's open to an individual's interpretation.
I've gotten many confirmed shipments with the note, "Will be sending it out first thing in the A.M." So obviously there is variance in what it means.
