G-Nitro: No way should a neutral be given for sending a game late. That is ridiculous. People have lives and something comes up. I confirm ship the minute I get the DC# off of paypal, and then ship it out on my way to work whether it is that morning or the next depending on when I printed it. A +5 would suffice for late shipping, but a neutral is just wrong.

The complaint isn't about sending a game (or movie) out late (at least it doesn't seem to be), the complaint is someone simply hitting the "Confirm Shipped" button to get their points and not actually have sent it at that time (or close to that time, like say the day afterward). In my opinion if someone hits the confirm shipped button but the actual post date for the item is two days or more later, then it should be grounds for a neutral, with the same penalty as postage not paid. If they simply ship it out late, and either don't confirm shipped or don't confirm it until they've actually sent it out, then that shouldn't be a grounds for a neutral.
I love it and I can't imagine any reason why somebody would have any problem with this. It is added protection for everybody and should make a dent in some of the late shippers or non-shippers and scam artists. Anything that insures the transactions more sounds good to me.

NO, because it still got to you. Why give someone a -10 for that?
Ahh...so that explains how I had a game accepted to be sold to me last night around 9:00 or so and they immediately confirmed they shipped it out already too. I knew they didn't go to the post office at 9 PM. lol. Well I hope it arrives and if it does in good shape all is well I suppose.
Kenny007: enderfall: I like this new change, although it still needs some teeth to be able to reprimand someone for clicking "confirmed" and still waiting 5-10 days to ship it out. Is it possible to now implement a rule to allow buyers to give a neutral if it's confirmed shipped put postmarked 2+days thereafter? This was pretty much my feeling towards the issue. It certainly is a step in the right direction, but if people are just going to slap that 'Confirmed Shipment' button and still lollygag for a week before sending it, under the new rules, their not only being a lazy ass by waiting around, but now they're blatantly breaking a newly established Goozex rule, and should be punished accordingly. This isn't like in the past where someone could go 'Oh, I got busy with my medical exam/dog died/extra homework, so I was a bit behind on the shipment' and skirt away from the issue...no, they've CONFIRMED the fact that the title is en route, when actually all they were doing was abusing/circumventing the new countermeasure to scamming. No doubt is this a step in the right direction, but without teeth to the measure, not much of a move at all. If the rule is in place and sidestepped, it's surely grounds for > +10.

The rule change wasn't done to prevent this case. The rule change was done to prevent point scamming (by using up points that had been earned pre-confirmation, and then canceling the trade).
All in all a scammer is a scammer and will find a way to cheat any system that is put in place. Just like a thief is a thief and all the cameras and security you can buy won't stop them from what they do. It makes them think a little harder but in the endthey will still keep trying to find the loop holes.
I have no problem with this update though as this is how I do all my trades currently anyway...not confirming shipped until it is at the post office already.

Personally I wouldn't do that if it was only a few days off from when they confirmed it, the first time they've done it, and it was still in pretty good condition anyways. I think that if you push the confirmed shipment button you either better have already dropped it off at the Post Office or have already paid for the postage and will have to drop it off soon (since Paypal Postage only has a validity of 48 hours).
Though in any case, I'd probably never end up giving anyone a neutral (this way, if it was implemented) since I'd never notice it (unless it was over a week long from when it was confirmed ship).
I agree with the above sentiments; instead of getting games faster, I'd bet that it will be even harder to predict when a game has actually been "shipped".

I fully understand the intent of the rule, hence my stating it's a 'step in the right direction' once or twice, but this alone will do absolutely zilch against what you just said. Pressing a button that many didn't take seriously to begin with in order to get your points isn't a terribly large hurdle.
Now, most know I'm a fan of really buckling down on dishonest fellows here on Goozex, but even I hesitate to suggest a neutral for late shipment when exploiting the 'Confirm Shipment' button. G-Nitro is right, you did still get the game, and overall the shipment doesn't affect the quality of the title, just the quality of the trade.
No, abusing and exploiting this new measure should have repercussions beyond trading, in that repeated abuse of the button by slamming now and shipping later boots the user from the site. The 3 tiered feedback system we have now isn't terribly relevant to use against a scammer, as you're rating the user and his abuse of the site in this case...NOT the quality of the game. Even though it may be a lighter form of the act, confirming shipping when you've done nothing is still a scam and should be punished under this new system and to do any less really makes me question the effort put forth in its implementation. Kind of like saying 'Don't take any cookies from the cookie jar' while a rebellious kid not only clears the jar right in front of you, but you merely shrug it off and go turn on the TV.

I always click confirm shipped whenever I print the shipping label, no matter what time of the day it is.
This is definitely a step in the right direction. As for shipping later than originally stated, it should not be a big deal as long as you make an effort to let the buyer know. I always send a quick message if I know I can't get out of work in time to ship a game. If someone wants to dock me five points for shipping a day later, so be it.
I agree that that this is a good way to start slowly weeding out some of the problem children of Goozex. While it obviously won't hurt the resilient pricks, it will make it hard for some. Going through the hassle of claiming that every expensive game you shipped was somehow lost in the mail will send up some major red flags.
Now, back to failing at Demon's Souls.
That sounds great because i was burned 2 time on lord of the rings. Having to dispute is a pain in the butt!

This falls in line with other sites like Amazon Marketplace that now require you to confirm shipping before they give your money.
I don't have any issues with this format cause I always send my stuff on time anyways and have always confirmed the stuff I ship.

So in other words, you're part of the problem being discussed here, and an excellent example of why the system is needed, and why it is flawed.
