Nice, maybe this will stop some of the feet dragging on shipping by otherwise good traders.
batmania15: mietha: batmania15: mietha: taintedzodiac: mietha: taintedzodiac: I like the idea but this is easily bypassed by confirming shipment immediately. Seeing as it's nearly impossible to verify when someone physically shipped a game, I can't say this was a necessary or valuable move. This. Utterly pointless. My post or the change? The change. As you point out it can be oh-so-easily circumvented. It changes nothing other than hurting honest sellers, and even that is mild. It makes the dispute a little less drawn out and painful for the buyer if the seller hits submit to ship and never does How exactly does that work? Tracking is not required. There is no way to PROVE someone didn't ship something. Try again. Your absolutely right there is NO way to prove it. SO as a seller your best option is to get DC to cover your ass otherwise the buyer could say not received and you as the seller will loose out. ALWAYS have proof that you sent the game regardless even without this change because if you don't you risk being burned. Now with the change goozex won't even give the seller an option to speak there case if they hit confirm to ship and didn't prove shipping. Case closed right away and buyer wins.

You can still provide a copy of the receipt showing you shipped it out that day you confirmed it and to that same state and zip code. That should be sufficient proof for Goozex.

Or if you sent the game, confirmed without DC and the buyer didn't get it, you'll still have the Goozex Guarantee to cover you.

Now how in this case is the goozex guarantee going to cover you without proof of sending the game. Because with the guarantee without providing proof then this change does not really change anything. I was in the understanding you needed proof that you sent the item to win the dispute.

100% Satisfaction Guaranteed.
If you sent a game, DC or no, would you be satisfied if you didn't get any points for it?
EDIT:
That's not to mean the points are going to come from the Buyer here (ie you'll still "lose" the dispute)

I hear what your saying but that doesn't stop anyone from not sending the game or even in fact a buyer receiving the game but saying they didn't so they get a free game and there points back
DC should almost be a requirement
enderfall: I like this new change, although it still needs some teeth to be able to reprimand someone for clicking "confirmed" and still waiting 5-10 days to ship it out. Is it possible to now implement a rule to allow buyers to give a neutral if it's confirmed shipped put postmarked 2+days thereafter?

This was pretty much my feeling towards the issue. It certainly is a step in the right direction, but if people are just going to slap that 'Confirmed Shipment' button and still lollygag for a week before sending it, under the new rules, their not only being a lazy ass by waiting around, but now they're blatantly breaking a newly established Goozex rule, and should be punished accordingly.
This isn't like in the past where someone could go 'Oh, I got busy with my medical exam/dog died/extra homework, so I was a bit behind on the shipment' and skirt away from the issue...no, they've CONFIRMED the fact that the title is en route, when actually all they were doing was abusing/circumventing the new countermeasure to scamming.
No doubt is this a step in the right direction, but without teeth to the measure, not much of a move at all. If the rule is in place and sidestepped, it's surely grounds for > +10.

DC should most definitely not be a requirement. I always use it, but can u imagine how much this will limit the trade of 100-300 point games? You might as well remove them off the site.
No way should a neutral be given for sending a game late. That is ridiculous. People have lives and something comes up. I confirm ship the minute I get the DC# off of paypal, and then ship it out on my way to work whether it is that morning or the next depending on when I printed it.
A +5 would suffice for late shipping, but a neutral is just wrong.

I'm w/ g-nitro on this....it seems as if many of our members have forgotten the goozex mantra: "patients is of virtue"

Eh. "Patients is of virtue" applies to the flow of the Goozex economy. It's just a scapegoat when applied to mailing a game late, because the only person really affected at that point is the person who hasn't gotten his or her game yet.
which is exactly why it would apply to people who believe it is appropriate for the 2 post directly above g-nitros
NINJA EDIT: misunderstood your post. Carry on....
one thing i hope will happen if/when this change goes live is to make sure to make the process clear to new users. its just another little bit of complecation to the shipment process that could confuse a fist-time goozex-er
