You should be happy they cancelled it. Some people like to hit the confirm ship button even though they are not going to send it so you have to wait over a week before you can leave a negative and get back into the queue.
As for getting matched up with users on release day for some games it has happened quite a lot on this site. For me I got matched up for the Halo Wars regular and limited edition disc only on release day. The person bought the games for the codes that were in them and had no interest in the game. Also for games like Batman AA and Borderlands the games were on sale for 39.99 here in Canada on release day and a few people picked them up just to trade off on Goozex for the points. Not the best flip in my opinion but to each their own. Anyways you would be suprised at how many copies of a game get traded out on release day legitimately. But the scammers always emerge and screw some people out of a good spot in line.
He may have cancelled it even before I sent him the message, I'm not sure. He says his brother accidentally added it to haves instead of requests, and was confused about the 1 day vs 3 day option? I don't know, I'm generally a trusting sort, so I'm inclined to give people the benefit of the doubt.
If you suspect you're being scammed though, I recommend sending a message like I did, nonconfrontational but laying a bit of a guilt trip on them and hoping they have a conscience!
mhatter106: sounds good, except my concern is that people will click "confirm shipped" well before it's actually shipped. I'm nto talkign just about scammers who never plan oon shipping, but on ppl who do ship bu they just want their posts right away. So maybe they get matched, hit confrim shipped the next day but don't send for another 3 days. Which wouod be fine ordinarily, but now you're sitting around with the idea that it was shipped earlier than it actually was.

Personally, I click it as soon as I have a tracking number (which tends to be the evening before the post office actually takes the item out of my mailbox). I think that's sufficient--once I've got the item wrapped and postage paid for, I'm not backing out of the transaction :)
My idea still remains for new users, to verify and only verify a valid debit/credit card upon signing up, so a much greater majority of new members are legit users to try out the site, hopefully this goes into consideration, maybe for the beginning of next year?

I don't foresee this happening anytime soon especially after some of the feedback left in the other thread about how folks would have never joined under those circumstances.
Just saw the big red warning on the front page, i thought i had done something wrong. haha. Everyone has definitely been put on notice
taintedzodiac: I like the idea but this is easily bypassed by confirming shipment immediately. Seeing as it's nearly impossible to verify when someone physically shipped a game, I can't say this was a necessary or valuable move.

This. Utterly pointless.

The change. As you point out it can be oh-so-easily circumvented. It changes nothing other than hurting honest sellers, and even that is mild.

It makes the dispute a little less drawn out and painful for the buyer if the seller hits submit to ship and never does

How exactly does that work? Tracking is not required. There is no way to PROVE someone didn't ship something. Try again.

No, but they can't cancel the trade. If an account keeps getting hit with negatives disciplinary action will be taken.
Does this change much? No, but I don't see it as an inconvenience. I'm more on board with how things are when you first join. Feedback must be left for you to receive payment, but that could (and probably would) lead to another set of issues.
To me the change shows that the G-Team is trying to solve some things. I don't know what else they could really do to deter dishonest users except require a paid membership and I really don't see that working any better.

Your absolutely right there is NO way to prove it. SO as a seller your best option is to get DC to cover your ass otherwise the buyer could say not received and you as the seller will loose out. ALWAYS have proof that you sent the game regardless even without this change because if you don't you risk being burned.
Now with the change goozex won't even give the seller an option to speak there case if they hit confirm to ship and didn't prove shipping. Case closed right away and buyer wins.

This.
I'm pretty surprised at the mixed reaction this announcement is getting. It may not be an earth-shattering change to the system, but it feels like a step in the right direction, to me. Even minor improvements are still improvements.
