Well, 1 thing I can say is that I will stop flipping games by shipping directly to another user (Amazon Prime ftw, btw)
I like this change. It will make the seller more accountable and hopefully force people to have quicker turn around times.

Why?
Gary Johnson For President 2012!
Meh... It doesn't bother me, but I don't think this will really accomplish anything, either.
Lets really look at this: If your using this site you are either a gamer that wants more value from your used games and on a budget on how much you spend for games or you are a JERK that is trying to scam others.
Case one: gamer wanting value from your games: this update will not affect you because you are a ligit gamer who send out games and is happy when you get your points so you can get another game.
Case two: gamer on a budget: this update WILL make it easier for you not to get scammed. maybe not innitially but in the future (READ FURTHER)
Case three:scammer: this will make it harder for those people to scam not innitially but in the future.
MY REASONING: this will make it easier for the powers that be to track and keep a history of who is trying to scam people. I am willing to bet that in the future if someone has X number of strikes against them then they are going to get banned from here. This is a step in the right direction. I PERSONALLY don't even mind waiting to get positive feedback to get my points because i value the amount of money this site saves me as a gamer, it makes me willing ot wait the 2 weeks to get the points.
I may be wrong but these are my initial thoughts.
Guess it is a good change. But not sure it will help, a scammer will just hit comfirmed shiped to get there points.
If nothing else, this will force me to remember to confirm a shipment after I've mailed it.
One question:What happens to a user that has mailed the game, but forgot or is unable to confirm the shipment? If the buyer receives it and feedbacks it do they get the points?
Oh... and a major nitpick:
Most of the time these changes get implemented, they're either announced in the forums, or in the little update section no one really looks at. This leaves maybe 80% of the users completely clueless about what is happening... then you end up with people complaining on the forums. Is there any way to send out an individual email to each account, or send a site-wide message to tell people about these changes?
RockMuncher:What happens to a user that has mailed the game, but forgot or is unable to confirm the shipment? If the buyer receives it and feedbacks it do they get the points?
Blackcoyote: Scenario 1: No Confirmed Shipment Seller will not get points until the buyer provides positive feedback
Scenario 1: No Confirmed Shipment
So if you forget to confirm shipment, you'll have to wait for the buyer to leave positive feedback.

There should be a news/change feed that a user can subscribe to in order to receive notifications on site updates/changes or something similar to how the 'Invite to Play' feature works. This should avoid some G-Team members' fear of spam.

I have had orders with amazon that have been marked as ready to ship but then canceled before actually getting shipped.
i don't know if this has been said already (im in too much of a rush to read both pages) but why not MAKE the seller provide a VALID tracking # to get the points? wouldn't this be one step further to reducing scamming, and could possibly reduce the amount of lost packages/unknown status.
forcing people to buy delivery confirmation/tracking # though may not go over good with everyone i personally ALWAYS buy a tracking #
just a thought

As a newbie who always ships within a day and confirms as soon as it hits the post office, I'm happy with this change. Most of the complaints on Goozex seem to come from people who accept trades and then just sit and sit and sit. Plenty of times it seems that it's just because the person can't be bothered to actually mail the item, and if they're too lazy to mail the item they're probably too lazy to confirm the shipment.
What I think is more powerful is that the seller can no longer cancel the trade. I think one instance where that falls apart, though, is when the seller sends the game and it arrives damaged or crushed. With this change, the buyer MUST cancel the trade -- and get put to the back of the line. Or leave a negative when it might be due to the post office.
It's probably a case of "well, people might get some unfair negatives," but I wanted to bring up that forcing buyers to cancel trades, especially on popular new games, can really be a downer. Getting put back at the end of a 200-person queue is probably enough to sour some users.

Many, many people would just leave the site if they did that.
I don't think making people provide a tracking number would be much of a scam deterrent. It would be easy for a scammer to find some tracking number and post that, since USPS tracking numbers don't show their destination address until they arrive.
That being said, let's not be dramatic on the costs--it costs exactly 19 cents to get a tracking number. I've shipped a bunch of games this month, and every one has cost me $2.26; it's $2.07 for a 6oz package, and 19¢ for the delivery confirmation. I get all the postage via Paypal's "multi-order shipping" service, which is pretty darn convenient. You do have to copy/paste the address from Goozex to Paypal, but that only takes a minute. I use recycled materials for envelopes (brown paper grocery bags can easily be converted to a padded envelope that will survive the rigors of the postal service), so I don't spend a dime beyond $2.26 per offer. And for disc+manual it's even cheaper, since I can knock the weight down to 4oz.
I can't imagine that this would drive many customers away. The value proposition offered by Goozex far outweighs an extra 19¢.

If they made it manditory to provide a number, lots of Canadians would leave. It would be more worthwhile to trade games in at stores for that price.
Too bad they didnt implement this today. G-nitro does not deserve my points until he ships my game!!
In all seriousness this new rule doesnt mean anything to me.
