Xbox 360 Disc Tray Sticking

Everytime I try to open the 360 disc tray, it opens up by a millimeter or so and stops, I have to repeatedly open and close it 5 or so times, then it'll finally open. Anyone else having this problem, and any possible solutions? I would send it in, but apparently when my 360 red-ringed a year ago, I didn't get the additional 3-year warranty, and I don't have $100.

I had this issue but thankfully a RRoD took care of that!  To get around the sticking though I used to push the eject button to the left as it seemed like the tray was hitting the eject button, stopping and going back in.  Pushing it to the left when I opening the tray gave it more clearance.

If you can get it open, pull the power when it's open so it stays that way. below the tray you can see a little black rubber band on a wheel. If you pull that out with some tweezers and clean it with soap and water and put it back in it will help a lot. Won't fix it completely and permanently but after I did it, it only sticks once a week or so, and works the second time I try.

It's easier to put it back in with a toothpick or shishkabab stick than the tweezers.

This doesn't sound like quite the same issue I have, but it's similar. Many times, my tray won't open and tapping it while it's trying to open works like a charm.

I've had my 360 for about 3 years now with no RRoD. I figure it's just waiting for me to get hooked on Dragon Age.
