Search came up with this thread http://www.goozex.com/community/forums/t/47049.aspx but now this has happened to me as the buyer. Delivery confirmation says the game arrived last week, but I haven't received it. Called the post office earlier this week and they said to check with neighbors. None of them admit to having received it, so I opened up a complaint with the PO (I can't open an investigation since delivery confirmation doesn't actually offer proof of delivery). It was only a 100 point game and of course I'll rerequest it; I'm more annoyed at losing the trade credit and having to go back to the end of the line. My question: What feedback should I give the seller?
fatDaddy21:I can't open an investigation since delivery confirmation doesn't actually offer proof of delivery).
i though that was exactly what DC was?
technically delivery confirmation just shows that the item went from one place to another, for actual proof of delivery signature confirmation would be needed. the only thing you can do is leave a negative. the seller would be covered because of the DC # and hopefully the G-team would believe you as well
PM me your email for a Lockerz invite... still have 20 to give out for Z list status):
As for the technicalities of D/C and what not, I'm pretty sure that delivery confirmation does prove it was delivered. It just doesn't guarantee who it was delivered to.
Yes, it was delivered. That's confirmed and proven. Was it delivered to your neighbor, someone a block away, or to the punk kid down the street who's always checking other people's boxes? That's where the certified/signature mail comes in, to say beyond a shadow of a doubt you got it, and you signed saying you did.
I don't recall exactly, but i remember seeing it brought up a while ago that on items of high value ebay/paypal would not accept anything less than signature confirmation from the seller for disputes because DC was unreliable.
I've successfully disputed DC claims with the Post Office in the past simply on the basis that the mailman could have easily dropped it in the wrong mailbox. It's a pain and to be honest the fight wasn't worth the trouble (it was a $5 t-shirt that I sold on eBay) and all they ended up doing was reimbursing me the cost of shipping since I didn't have insurance on the item but I did win.
DC protects the seller on the Goozex end of things but technically DC with the Post Office doesn't mean squat as far as weather the item got truly delivered since no one has to sign for it. One more reason why I use UPS.....the main one is that it's free because I'm in charge of shipping for my company and can more or less do what I want but even UPS doesn't always make people sign. They do automatically insure everything for $100 and claims are really easy, at least for us but it may have something to do with preferred customer status.
Sorry, kinda got sidetracked there. At any rate it's a negative for not being received which the seller will dispute and win but hopefully the G-Team will believe you and let you keep your points and trade credit as well.
