Expanding on what was touched upon in the inverted Y-axis thread, curious to knwo what people's preferred control layouts are when you can customize. Obviously it varies from game to game for game-specific stuff, but just generally i mean.
If I can I do (for a ps3 controller)
R2 - Fire primary weapon (button is more like trigger to me than R1)
R1 - Reload
L2 - Fire secondary, or throw grenade
L1 - Aim down sights if you can hold it down to do so
R3 - Zoom/Aim down sights if it's a toggle
L3 - Run
Circle - Melee (I find melee'ing with R3 difficult)
X - Jump
Triangle - change guns

I don't understand. My Keyboard has only 1 "r" on it, and FPS's are really only to be played on PC. ;)

R3 - Zoom/Aim down sights
Circle - Melee

Square - Jump
L3 - Crouch
Triangle - depends on game
I too as a PC gamer, use this keyboard to game on:
Closeup of left hand panel:
Most keys are set as they're labeled, the one adjacent to jump is prone, and the aptly named 'Panic' button is generally my Melee key. Sweet keyboard.

Mine looks something like:
R2 - Fire primary weapon while missing 80% of my shots
R1 - Almost - but not quite - finish reloading before getting killed
L2 - Fire secondary, or throw grenade into a wall, rebounding it to myself
L1 - Aim down sights, not realizing I'm about to get stabbed from behind
L3 - Run - usually right into the sights of a sniper
Circle - Melee unsuccessfully while my target manages to stay just beyond my reach, shooting me at near-point blank range.
X - Jump to my death while attempting to evade the enemy
Triangle - change from one gun that is completely out of ammo to another gun that is also out of ammo, to my melee weapon. All of this is happening while being shot.

I really like the default in Borderlands for the 360. The only thing I would do is swap the melee attack button with the crouch button.

Me too. This game is FN awesome.
WASD + mouse.
One thing I don't like recently (only with multiplatform games) is where 'zoom' only works while held down. I like using my Apple 'Mighty Mouse' BlueTooth mouse, but you can't hold right click while left clicking. So I reassigned Zoom to 'Q'. Easier than switching mice to play (everything else I have is wired).
