Hey All,
I just figured I'd throw out the interesting situation I am in. I shipped out a game around Oct 19th first class to a buyer in Massachusetts. Earlier this week, I was checking all my shipments tracking to see if they were delivered or not. This one caught my eye as it stated it could not be delivered as addressed. Of course the first thing I did was check the buyers address. Now it states he has an address in New York.
So this morning I got a negative feedback stating he never received it. I of course opened a dispute on this as I know I didn't make a mistake. I checked paypal and the addresses don't match up in anyway. My issue is I didn't print out the packing slip since I try not to waste paper.
2 options I have now are to reship it once it gets back to me, or refuse to ship again until the buyer pays for the 2nd shipping. I am just wondering if Goozex can see if someone changed their address after my ship date. I shouldn't be hit with a negative for the buyer's mistake.
For those wondering if I used someone else's address, I did not. I always keep the shipping info page open while I copy the address into paypal shiping. I use two monitors, so it isn't like I had the wrong page info open. Everyone else got their games and yet this one is Undeliverable as Addressed, which means it wasn't a legit address when we were matched.
Also, I can't escalate to Goozex yet, which is why I'm just trying to get some opinions on the matter. And I don't want to cancel as the game has dropped 100 points since I shipped it, and I shouldn't lose out on my points for the buyers error.
Any thoughts from others on this. Will I win a dispute? Should I ship and be out another $2.50?
Ship it out again using Goozex's shipping label just in case the user changes their address again. Those are guaranteed since Goozex knows you paid and printed using their labal. Seems like the easiest solution and the higher road despite some apparent asshattery.

True, I'll do that. I guess spending another couple of bucks isnt that big of a deal.
Goozex shouldn't allow users to change their shipping address while incoming trades are active. Or they shouldn't allow the address to change if updated on an active trade's shipping info trade.
I would definitely send messages to the G-team. I am not sure about the intricacies of the Goozex user profile database, but heck, I know enough about general transactional databases that the update tracking is extremely deep ... so I imagine that there is information about when the address was changed. They can compare that information with the match and your shipping confirmation # and it will be all set.
I'll escalate this to the admin forum.

I think I will shoot Coyote a PM. And thanks for escalating it. This is just a really weird situation for me. Probably the strangest dispute I've been in.
Last time I had the buyer change the address, they admitted fault and I happily repaid for shipping. But when the buyer flat out says they didn't get it, it kind of irks me. They didn't even ask if I sent it to their previous one.
Buyer replied and admitted fault and wants to work it out. Told him I'm gonna wait for the game to come back and I will resend it. My only real option....
Still sucks I really have no other choice than to ship it back out on my dime

He could always paypal you a couple dollars. That kind of blows.
Buyer admitted fault, but didn't offer to pay for shipping? I'm confused.

I'm pretty sure your month isn't up there, Nitro.

Not bitchign about Goozex. Bitching about dealing with a member and money out of my pocket.
how is that your only choice? if he still wants the game he should have to pay for the shipping. It is the buyers responsibility to maintain a correct address

I'm on the same situation right now.
Buyer says he moved and forgot to change his shipping address. He replied to my message and we are working on something. Mmmmmhm...
One question, if the return address is Goozex's main address (the one in MD for me at least), do they get the game and then send it out to me? What happens to my game since USPS has stated they are returning the package and its not my address but Goozex's?

I agree. However, if you choose not to spend the $2.50 for shipping you're out 100 points, or roughly $5....so I guess the guy has kind of screwed you here.
