I can't stand inverted controls. Pressing down to look up makes absolutely no sense.

To me, it's not so much "pressing down" to look up, it's more "angle the analog stick so the end points up" to look up.

I used to invert the Y-axis.  When I first played Halo, I thought the game sucked because I couldn't play it.  I was pretty ticked off because I had just bought an X-box and Halo 1 and 2.  I talked to a friend the next day and he said "invert the Y-axis."  Invert whosawhatnow?  So I did.  Next thing I know the game is awesome.  Amazing was a simple change in the contol options will do for ya.

Now somehow, between the release of Halo 2 and 3, my brain went all wonking.  Playing Halo 3 was frustrating as hell.  No matter what I did, inverted or not, I kept doing the opposite of the setting.  I was constantly changing from inverted to not inverted but it didn't help because the next time I started to play I'd be doing the opposite of whatever I last set the game to.  Yeah, it was pretty weird.

Now, I don't play with the Y-axis inverted.

It makes perfect sense.  Think about how your head moves.  When you look up your head is moving back, when you look down your head is moving forward.

I usually invert the Y-axis.  When I want to look down it only makes sense in my head that pushing down on the left analog stick would make sense.

I would like to see more options for custom controls on consoles game.  It's nice when the offer numerous presets, but nothing is 100% setup the way I want it to be and I usually don't play games enough to adapt quickly.

That would be nice, it really came in handy with Midnight Club: LA as the default setup was terrible.

Star Fox on the SNES got me playing inverted. And then Halo had inverted-Y as the default. So that got me used to playing with an inverted Y. I can try playing default but it takes me about a week to reconfigure myself.

I literally cannot play an FPS without the Y-Axis inverted. I don't know where I got that from but I've always done it. It just feels right for some reason . . . The inverted X-Axis in FFXII drives me crazy for the first hour or so whenever I pick it up but I adjust pretty quickly. I've tried playing an FPS without the Y inverted and literally can't!

This and I used to be really good at playing that way.

After several months of Halo, I switched to playing FPS on PC and it got my mind back to thinking up is up and down is down.  From then on, I kept my console controls at non-inverted.

I used to on the vertical axis. There was a period I didn't play games for about a year, when I started back up I had to play with uninverted control.

I can't play FPS games with an inverted axis...I remember playing Halo for the first time, and the option came up to invert it and I was like "...what? No."

As for Wind Waker, I guess I never really noticed because I only used the C-stick outside of combat so it never bothered me enough (hm, interesting cuz I honestly have never noticed lol).
