the movie is rated R.  How old is your nephew and does he like scary movies.  I have not seen it but being rated R i would not bring my 9 year old son to it personally, and he would be up all night scared.

I read some netflix reviews on it. Alot of people claimed it to be more freaky/creepy as opposed to scary. I dont know if that helps any but I know that they are already making a sequal because they were talking about it on the radio this morning.

I've heard the first hour is a total bore and the last 30 minutes aren't that bad.  Overall it wasn't worth it.  The critics seem to love it though.

I wouldn't recommend it. It's pretty boring until the very end and the characters are really stupid/annoying to the point where you are rooting for them to die.

better to take you nephew to see paranormal activity than that craptastic movie, Where the wild things are. THat movie would be better titled, "Where the depressed emo kids hang out"

I saw it last weekend and enjoyed it.  Definately more creepy than scary, and it does start off a bit slow.  I wouldn't take someone less than 13 or so to it though.

Just because his parents said he could see it does not mean you have to see that movie. How old is he anyways? I'd say it'd be better to see Where the Wild Things Are, but if he is 13+ and you just have to see an R rated movie then I would recommend Zombieland before Paranormal activity.

My local mall has Hot Topic, Spencers and Pac Sun all in a row.

Needless to say, if you walk past on a Friday night, a part of your soul get sucked away

I second the Zombieland nomination, Paranormal Activity was terrible... the superior horror film of the season is Antichrist but I would not recommend taking anyone impressionable to see that film.
