I got a game (Wet) that felt really light, and after taking the disc cover out of the sleeve, I found part of the plastic case to be cut out as shown below (by the manufacturer) which resulted in the game case getting trashed by the post office. Not a big deal as it's a high demand game so I can just send it in a sturdy CD case to the next user as disc/manual. But it will suck if a lot of publishers start putting their games in these as they bend real easily. Just wanted to see if anyone else has seen these/had post office problems with them...
I've noticed a lack of quality in the case of Dirt 2...seemed flimsy
Gary Johnson For President 2012!
So now there is only a layer of thin plastic open on both ends and a sheet of paper protecting the disc from dust and whatnot? Fantastic. Now no one is allowed to touch my games. Ever.
I noticed the same thing when I got my copy of WET from here. Mine was in perfect condition though. Yours could've just been bad luck. I've had regular cases with the top part smashed up like that before.

The was i store my games and the way i see gamestop slam games around this is going to lead to a lot of broken disks.

hmmm... that case reminds me of something...
Coincidence? I think not...
cheesecake000:You have some kind of superdust in your home which can permeate through paper and clear plastic?
Doesn't everybody?
No, but when my nephews borrow my games, they tend to leave them open and facing down which causes ripples in the paper and plastic, letting dust in. And for pete's sake, I'm not saying a sandstorm is getting in there, but the solid plastic back does offer better dust (and other stuff) protection.
Have you been having issues with damaged packages lately with the Post Office? The reason I ask is because I sent you Lost: Via Domus a week or two ago and the package left here in perfect condition, but when you received it, it got cracked. You were awesome enough to still give me +10 which I definitely appreciate. Just wondering if there might be some idiot handling the packages at your PO.
To keep on track I have noticed these newer cases and I do not like them at all. There's going to be a lot of broken cases if they keep using these.
@Kane182: It definitely could be my post office; given their recent history. This just seemed like this might add to the situation.

easy solution there, if they can't properly care for a game, they don't deserve to borrow them

Definitely agree...I'd file a complaint with the Post Master if it keeps happening.
You guys see a crappy new case, I see a chance to sell the old cases on ebay and make a small fortune.
Seriously though, you can always replace the case if you don't like it. And as long as its a green case, I see no problem why it couldn't be traded as full package. This is the corner cutting that's typical of every industry in the world right now, and we're just going to have to live with it until they realize it will cost them more in the long run.

PS3 cases are also da flimz!
The new cases are supposedly "eco-friendly". I got a copy of Kids DVD (from Amazon) with a similar case but it has a recycle symbol cut out of the back. It's the movie/game industry attempt to save the ___________. <----- insert your favorite animal or plant here.
On the plus side, as long as they do hold up you'll save on shipping costs.
