I have a BB and I love it

I have a BlackBerry Storm as my personal use phone.

If this really does have something to do with Goozex, I certainly hope its an app cause I was just thinking the other day that it would be beyond awesome to have a Goozex app!!!

No.  But I would grab a HTC Touch Pro 2 if I could work out the camera permission issues with work.

what kinda work do you do where u need permission to have a camera phone?

Lots of places where clearances are required. Though my employer recently gave up trying to keep camera phones out on a campus-wide basis simply because it's getting harder and harder to find a phone without a camera.

And outside closed areas requiring top secret clearances you'll see bins full of blackberries and phones because they aren't allowed into the room.

sorry 0014 i was just curious how many other jobs out there were like that.. and what people do . anyway i have the cameraless tour cause we cant have cameras at work. good thing they make it w/out a camera..lol

Surprisingly enough I am not in 'classified' work, but am a statistician / optical engineer for Corning Inc.  The reason for the security is intellectual property protection - Corning is a 'company town' - 25000 employees in a region without a real city in a 100 mile radius.  It has a very 'small town' feel.  Back in the 'telecom bubble' days a decade ago, folks from competitors would just hang out at local restaurants or bars, go through trash, or steal badges ... and also offer money to folks to take pictures, especially at our research center.  Since then, you've had to get a 'pass' to have a camera-phone.  There are numerous camera-free phones.  My Moto phone is not bad, and there are a few HTC and many Blackberry devices.

OOps I have a BB BOLD not STORM.  had to look at the box to even tell, no where on my BB does it say BOld, but it is sadly branded as AT&T

BlackBerry Curve 8330 on Verizon, here.  Love it.  Don't need it, but man do I love having it. 

 

And a BB App for Goozex would be awesome, if thats where this is going.

It is a 'city', but where I grew up (Stoughton Ma) we had a small city (Brockton) next door and really only considered Boston as the local city.  Brockton is much bigger than Elmira, so thus my logic.

Ok I will let it out! We are making an app for the blackberry. If all goes well we will develop the same app for iphone and others.. Don't tell anyone I told you...LOL.. Any way we are about to be ready for beta testers. So I'm doing this to scout potential testers. If you want to be a tester we can hook it up. But u have to be willing to give out ur pin to myself and the other member of the team. 2 reasons for the pin. 1 to be registered with the app and 2 able to provide direct feedback. Let me know if ur interested and ur phone type..

As of roght now this app doesn't support the storm. I'm sorry. I will support it as soon as the beta testing is over and we are ready to release it. As of writing this we are finishing up the code. Storm support will be coming soon! Sorry..

Love my Curve...I use it a lot....especially to stream music at work and to surf the web.
