Kenny007:The silence of that crowd as the Yankees began to pour on the runs with two outs in the top of the 9th yesterday was overly amusing, and I'd love to see the camera pan the crowd once they've been shut down for good. Throw in all those ridiculous towels Philly fans, you're done!
My older son wanted to wear his Phillies shirt again (gift from his cousin, wife's sister lives in NJ ~45 mins from Philly) but when he saw the headlines said 'stupid Phillies' and chose something different. Loads of NY fans here (obviously) so he had fun giving them crap after game 1

So, nobody who voted Phillies honestly thought that they had a chance against a competent team...did they? The way yesterday's game went makes me think they purposely lost Game 5 to win it in the new stadium during Game 6 at home.

Just make sure you recycle them. They make wonderful fire starters.

It's either that or save them for the next series. However, I think cotton towels only have a life expectancy of around 40-50 years, and might not make it.

I think you're confused. They played the Phillies this year, not the Red Sox.
No time like the present to start another curse! Without Utley and Lee, the Philley's were terrible.
Here's hoping we buy one of them!

They may have won but it's not secret that yankees fans still suck.

And its the Phillies.
taintedzodiac: The Phillies really weren't that bad, it's just that the Yankees have three good playoff pitchers this year. Haven't had that since the 90's.

IDK....Lee held up the team in Games 1 and 5. Game 1 was a really good start for the Phillies though, with some solid scoring to boot. The other games though displayed their terrible bullpen and sporadic at best hitting potential. Without Utley's killer home run streak, the series may have been much shorter, at least finished at Game 5 rather than 6.
Yankees on the other hand, as Tex said after the game yesterday, had contributions from everyone and made for a more solid team. Granted a lot of our 'BIG' hitters sucked...Tex himself, A-Rod...etc, and some became assured strikeouts (Posada and Cano), but everyone had at least one pivotal moment to pull the game forward, and apparently that works better than leaning on a single batter and pitcher.
When the Yankees lost, it was from a terrible bullpen. AJ in Game 5 was god awful. CC in the 1st made me question why anyone paid so much for him.

lol a disappointed fan bought a web address?
I won't be watching baseball again until there is a salary cap. AS an Orioles fan, I am sick of seeing seemingly every player just sign with the Yankees or Red Sox, giving those teams a built-in advantage. It makes the sport boring to me.

....you guys had Cal Ripken and Jr I believe, for a long time...that's cool....right?
I think this was the most fun I've had watching the World Series since I was seven years old, and I would have made the same conclusion even if the Phillies won.
They're both amazing teams, and the Phillies did a number of things in those six games that you'd never see out of the Yankees. Cliff Lee and Chase Utley, in particular, were absolute beasts. I just wish Ryan Howard woke up before his homer last night. Then, things would have really been interesting.

I was quite pleased to see him take the new lead as strikeout champ personally. I'm surprised the announcers didn't make more mention of it though.
I was quite shocked to see him hit that homer though. After being falsely hailed throughout the WS as a threat, to actually see him pull through in Game 6, even for a moment, was worrying.
