i just finish watching the fight who thinks that shogun won that and the only reason he won was because Dana white wants machida to remain unbeaten and do think Cain Velazquez is ready for a title shot

The UFC has no control over the judging, that's all commision garbage. They really do need to have a sit down with the commision and go over what constitutes a win, I was really pullin for Rua, and I do feel Cain does deserve a title shot, however, I think it would be wise to give him a Mir or Nog before doing so just as a serious testament as to ho ready he is, but people have gotten title shot's with alot less credentials thean he has under there belt. At the moment though I think he would get destroyed by our current HW champion. That is if he is still champion after December.

Like when brock lesner got a title shot when he was 2-1. Not that I watch much UFC but that just seemed rediculous to me.

thats more or less a factor of how weak the heavyweight division is than anything...

and Shogun definitely got screwed, I'd have given him the 48/47 unanimous over Machida

I had Shogun 49/46 over Machida.......poor guy isn't gonna sleep a wink tonight.

I'm becoming quite suspicious of the MMA judges specifically anything where cecil peoples in involved... I could see if one judge sided with machida but all 3 should not have seen it that way...

I watched the fight again today and while there are ways i could see them making such a decision as i said its hard to imagine that all 3 would reach that conclusion

I had it the same way. Too bad, the whole card was good, but the final decision kinda of ruined the experience for me... For those interested, here are the judges cards for the Main Event:

Nelson Hamilton (Rds 1,2,3,4,5): Shogun, Machida, Machida, Machida, Shogun.

Cecil Peoples: Machida, Machida, Machida, Shogun, Shogun

Marcos Rosales: Machida, Machida, Machida, Shogun, Shogun.

Edit - For those who are interested, check out the fightmetric stats. To me it's a pretty clear win for Shogun.
