What happens if you send something and the person says they didn't get it?

SirPoonga:
if I can prove it was delivered Goozex would be on my side.  Delivery confirmation is not the answer to my question, it's a tool to prove something was sent.  I wanted to know what happens in this situation.  The FAQs don't seem tocover the situation.

I had to re-read but I think I understand what you're getting at....

Normally if a trader states they did not receive a game, they do so through negative feedback on the trade.

Lets say you send a game, use DC and take a couple of digital pictures (pics aren't necessary but are recommended in the FAQ: LINK) to verify the contents of the game you sent.  2 weeks pass and the other trader claims to have not received the game so they report negative feedback.

Once they submit negative feedback on the trade, the system opens a 72 hour dispute window (which can be further extended if needed) - this is also e-mailed to you and shows up on the site under your Offers tab by the game you had sent.  During this time you can provide any information to Goozex to support your claim of, "Yes I sent this game to trader X".

You send to Goozex the DC# (which shows the item being delivered to Trader X's city) and a couple of digital pics showing the product you sent.  Goozex would consider any information provided from buyer and seller and render a decision on the trade.  More than likely with this much information on your side, you would win any dispute another trader may attempt as you have near-irrefutable proof to back up your claim.

Does that answer your question?

Use delivery confirmation.

Sorry feeling a little frisky tonight.  That's a terrible answer.  You can send ANYTHING to ANYBODY and use DC so how does that answer the question?  Truly if you have a DC number does that prove anything other than you actually put SOMETHING in the mail and then paid for DC.

I haven't had that problem here at goozex but I'm sure your rating would have something to do with your credibility.  I'm speaking in general not about you.  You should probably contact goozex support and make your case to them.

How is that a bad answer? DC is the best proof that you sent the game and it did (or didn't) arrive at its destination, outside of hand-delivering the game yourself.

Since the thread starter just joined the site today, I don't think he's in a dispute with anyone just yet about a game not arriving.

So yes, DC is the way to go. If you send a game with DC and the buyer says the game didn't show up, the DC number is your proof that you sent the package out.

Well considering DC tracks your package so ya you do have something that proves you put something in the mail and it proves it was delivered to the buyer.  Maybe you should look into how something works before you start talking like you know everything about it.  If you use DC as a seller then you are completely protected on this site.

I asked what happens if someone says they didn't get it.  Use delivery confirmation is not an answer to that question.  That doesn't tell me what happens if that person claims they didn't receive it or they don't log onto Goozex to update the status of the trade.

So, I iwill ask with a little more detail.  Let's say I send out a game.  I use delivery confirmation.  I see that it was delivered but that person doesn't go on Goozex and update the trade status.  Do I get the points?  Do I have to contact Goozex help?  If so and I show them the delivery confirmation to prove I sent something to that person what steps does Goozex take from that point?

I ask this because I am new to Goozex.  With how the FAQs read it seems like someone with a very high rating could easily stiff a new guy because Goozex would trust the high rating guy.

Use delivery confirmation is the correct answer to this question because if you use DC you will be protected.  If they claim they did not get the game and give you a negative you input the DC number into the dispute and hit the escalate button and Goozex will look to see that the item was shipped and delivered to the buyer.  You will keep your points and get positive feedback.

A tool that proves something was sent can be considered an answer.  Why is everyone so damn defensive tonight?

Anyway, use DC or keep receipts from the post office if you want proof showing you sent something.  Both of these can be sent to goozex if something happens and the game doesn't show up and the person gives you negative feedback. If you don't have either, you're pretty much boned.  If that's not a good enough answer for you, I don't know what else to tell you.

If someone claims they did not get the game and you did NOT use DC, then you are at their mercy. That is why everyone in this thread is saying USE DC! Now if the "buyer" has a recent history of games "not showing up" you might have a case. Otherwise, I hope you have some form of receipt at least.

Yes, that is what I was looking for.  I missed that section of the FAQ.  I would assume then providing that proof then Goozex would give the points and feedback removed?

Once the dispute was finalized and closed (usually around the time the 72 hour window closes) , yes, you would receive your points and positive feedback.

Thanks, I just wanted to verify that.  Basically, one shouldn't be afraid to deal with new people because there is enough precautions in place.
