I didn't know which forum this post goes to but I just wanted to say that I have successfully opened my trading region to and shipped 2 items to Canada (I'm in MA, USA). The jump in the queue was kinda big -- I was at around position 10 for 1 of my games. My biggest hesitation was international shipping but after a quick search of the forums I found a step-by-step full-proof method and still paid less than $3.

In conclusion, trading to Canada is cool.

My concern is losing games or waiting forever as those dirty mounties open my game and play it for a few hours between hockey and mouse hunting. :) j/k i'm considering it as well glad it's working out with you!

I consider

DocZeuhl:

to be more of a statement and less of a suggestion Wink

Glad to hear things worked out for you!

edit:

Not sure if you came across this in your research, but hold on to the customs slip as that is your DC when you ship to Canada.

I opened up my trading region about a week after I joined. Not only do you move games faster, but you receive them quicker as well.

I haven't had any problems sending nor receiving (that's what she said...), and the shipping isn't any more expensive.

I believe this is actually fact, as, due to it's location on the globe, it is privy to cooler temperatures year round.

So yes, Canada certainly is cool.  Bring a jacket.

Yeah I opened my trading region a few days after I joined and have never had a problem. Although sometimes it can be a bit slow but that is a rare at best.

It's 32F here today, with a cold breeze coming off of Lake Superior Lightning

edit:

I had to bust out my toque to cover my bald head.

acsguitar - Shipping time to/from Canada is roughly two weeks tops.  I've had a couple go 21+ days though.  For some reason when I ship or receive things from NJ it takes about 5 days.  Very random.

Holy crap.  It was 75 here in southern CT yesterday....did you guys get any of that?

Today is only 49 though, so I guess 32 up north isn't too crazy.

I sent out 2 games. The time from handing the package over to the US Post office to receipt of positive feedback:  4 days for one trade, and 8 days for the other.

I actually downloaded USPS's shipping assistant (which installs into my computer) and used that to fill out the shipping info and customs form. Then I printed out the label with the unique one-time use customs number and suggested postage price. I hand this over to the post office and pay my postage there.

Are you going to the post office to ship these...I like shipping via my computer. I'd kill myself having to go to the evil post office

Yes, unfortunately, you have to face the evil postal people. The first time I did this, the postal guy didn't even know what to do with my pre-printed label and custom form.

Oh wells...i'm OCD about sending games so I don't trust anyone but myself to put it in the box or do the postage. If I started having to go to the post office I probably would take a week to send a game.

I was becoming hopeful when I heard of this 'helper', but a visit to the PO is still out of the question.  Would turn my 15 minute turn arounds to roughly 5 days (visit on a Friday).

I guess I'm lazy but I can print my stuff and get all the supplies for free and ship right from my office. Still don't understand why I can't do that to canada!?
