I'm pretty much at the end of Uncharted 2, and was curious if anyone else on Goozex had been experiencing "freezing issues" with the game? I've read on various sites that others have been having this issue also, and there was a press release somewhere which indicated that it could be solved by simply returning the disc to the store and trading in for a new one (although I've read also that some who did that faced the same issues).
The freezing issues aren't "gamebreaking." Other individuals' experiences made it sound like they were few and inbetween in certain spots, but I've been getting caught by them more regularly. I was curious if anyone was experiencing them frequently toward the end.
Do you feel that this is a specific disc issue? Or more how the PS3 (I have an 80 gig, pre-Slim version) is handling the game? Is it something I should solve by exchanging the disc to ensure anyone I trade the game to at a later date doesn't experience the same problem? Or is it perhaps something that will be solved by a patch down the line?
Just curious to see what the Goozex community thinks.
I froze in chapter 25 in the big room. According to the gamefaqs forum, a ton of other people have. Luckily mine happened right after I killed all the baddies there, so it autosaved. But yeah, if thats what you are talking about its normal, and you can continue playing the game to the end. I beat it right after that.

Thankfully no issues to report on my 60GB. Beat the game once and a little less than half way through playing it on hard difficulty - hasn't frozen once on me.
I have seen this issue crop up over the internets recently, not sure how widespread the issue is.

Yes, my PS3 slim was so offended it froze in disgust.
Halfway thru crushing; haven't had any issues apart from an isolated glitch at the part with the miniboss at the end of the train where half of drake's body seemed to drop through the floor. But that was like for 2-3 seconds. No freezing though.

That happened to me. I put in another copy and it worked just fine after.

Yes. It freezes on a variety of systems as well. It seems to be more game-based than console-based.

I experienced no issues on hard mode, I'm playing through crushing now.
Is that last boss harder on Crushing than he was on Hard?

It froze on me at that one point, but it saved before it froze, so I can't tell you if it does it again at that spot or not. I asked some of my friends that have the game and a couple said it did the exact same thing to them at the same spot, but it saved before it as well so no recreation until someone plays the game all the way through again.
