This is a continuation of a the previous discussion on how one-time-use DLC codes should be handled with regards to Full Package trades. Please note the current and recently updated FAQ in regards to this:
Item includes downloadable content (DLC):Note: When trading an item that contains DLC at the time of original purchase, it is expected that the DLC has expired at the time of trading. Users are not to expect unused access codes when trading on Goozex. If you are interested in unused access codes, we recommend purchasing new through the Goozex Exchange.
To summarize: DLC codes are assumed to be NOT INCLUDED unless they are required to be able to play the game (serial keys, activation codes, etc.). Maps packs, item unlocks, etc. are not expected to be included in Full Package.

So....with this backpedal back to the original way of trading here (A good move), we must still discuss the fact that some titles are differentiated ONLY by DLC; no additional fancy case, no little figurine, etc. Should these isolated cases warrant additional points by using the special GOTY/DLC-suggestive listing, should those games be listed under the regular edition, or should there be a new listing altogether?
Pin it on the seller's ignorance maybe, if they choose to pay more points for a case that says GOTY on it?

One thing that was discussed was to lower the price of these items (like GoW2: GOTY) to match the regular versions.
I've already asked if it's possible to split games with DLC codes (like GoW2: GOTY) into to separate listings; one with an unused DLC code and one without. Obviously the one with the unused DLC code would cost more Goozex Points, but creating another listing is not a possibility.

I figured the new listing would be a pain and unlikely, but I do like the idea of lowering the price to match the same title.
Mind you, if other fancy jazz comes with a title (metal case, cool hat, whatever), then I think a price increase is warranted...but then we're in the other touchy realm of 'Bundles less than FP don't deserve full price'; a topic all its own.
Can someone from the G-team chime in and approve tainted's interpretation of the DLC rule?

It would be nice if they were to do this when they changed the FAQ's

It's not an interpretation if it IS the rule.
A lot of work was put in yesterday when they revised the rule. Mods expressed a lot of the concerns that the community had and they were more than willing to work towards a solution.
It was also suggested that they announce changes to the FAQ or changes that have an impact on trading in the monthly newsletter.

Simple solution here, how about the person requesting the GOTY game just lists it as FULL PACKAGE, their, problem solved.

the concern is that they are abusing the system by essentially trading out the same game as the original, just at a much higher point value

This should've been brought up to the G-Team a LONG time ago, so many games re-releasing to come out with DLC codes, but some also include the content all in the disc. At this point it BEEN taken advantage of, and if they can't fix the listing of the GOTY games then their is no point, at this rate the best solution is to make ALL DLC included games un-tradable, but expect more than enough threads based on this problem.

I have absolute respect for the moderators here, but I have also seen many rules and policies that they've brought down from the G-team later ignored by the G-team. So to have someone from the G-team on the record for this would be very beneficial, as this whole situation reeks of the "pass the buck" mentality they seem to have when "tough" decisions pop up.
cheeznrice: It was also suggested that they announce changes to the FAQ or changes that have an impact on trading in the monthly newsletter.
That'd only be acceptable if the announcement precedes the actual change. The FAQ's DLC requlrement that was in place for who-knows-how long opened who-knows-how many otherwise correct trades up to a legitimate negative.
And it's not like this was a change to a rule that had been just sitting around. The old "DLC is not required" rule was announced. We were all on notice. Then it was somehow completely reversed. Now it's been reversed back to the original rule, and we have yet to hear a single word from the G-team.
This isn't an issue for the Moderators. This is a trading-side rule, not a forum-side rule. The moderators aren't Goozex customer service and they shouldn't be expected to be Goozex customer service.
communication goes a long way and that's just one thing were not getting from goozex

Moderators are admins on the forums and we discuss certain issues with them whether they are for the trading side or the forum side (this is solely for feedback and interest). I approve Tainted's interpretation of this rule as it is directly from the FAQ. After discussing it with the G-Team and other mods, Tainted came here and posted for the members. We have no intention ever of a "Pass the Buck" Mentality. As always, if you have a complaint or some odd feeling about how something is being addressed, feel free to PM me with your concern and get full details one what is going on. Mods are mods for a reason and share input they receive on any aspects of the site. What goes on behind closed doors, is going on behind closed doors for a reason.

Thank you.
