I wish they would bring back the free 100 point coupon code

At least for a limited time.  I get why they got rid of it because all the fraud that came with it, but it would really help out the people who don't use the most modern systems with the most modern games that are constantly being traded back and forth.  I only have  a PS2, I have been on this site for two years and still haven't gotten matched for a single game I put in my offers as soon as I signed up.  I was moving up the offer queue at a pretty good pace on a lot of the games and even got up to first in line on a couple, but it seemed as soon as that free 100 point promotion stopped, so did the movement of the 100 point PS2 games almost entirely.   Really frustrating.

I also was brought in on the 100 point promo that I saw on CAG one November day. Traded out Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (PS1) for 200 points and Manhunt 2 (Wii) for 850 and got Fable & DoA 3 for 100 points each and DoA Ultimate for 250 (Xbox).

Of course I know it is only for new users.  Bringing back some kind of free 100 point bonus for new users would help move a lot of the 100 point games/movies a lot quicker, of course leading to the people who mainly trade PS2 games like myself being able to hopefully get some trades in as well so I don't have to keep purchasing points.

I too, was a former member from the 100 points promo. It didn't change my life as the above user stated but, It sure brought me to a wonderful game trading site.

Goozex has gotten a lot of exposure since those days, and with the additional exposure comes the increased frequency of exploitation.  Once CAG gets a hold of a promotion, you can be pretty sure it's going to be beaten into the ground in some way.

CAG is gentle on deals compared to RFD (redflagdeals).  If any deal gets posted on that site expect it to be raped and pillaged.  Right now best buy in Canada is having a trade 4 get 2 deal going on.  The people on RFD are making a killing off of the deal and Best Buy is losing an insane amount of money thanks to them exploiting it.  It is best buys fault for running the program, but once something gets posted on RFD it is expected to get exploited and the deal will not last for very long.

There are several contests that pop out every now and then that gives you the chance to earn points (and sometimes trade credits). There is also the occasional tournament that may give points out as prizes. There was even a point where MVP events would award prizes, but I think when participation declined, the prizes jumped ship as well. There are ways to get more points without sending games out if your queue is "unattractive", you just need to look for them and put in some time to work for them.

I got 100 points when I joined but I saved them.  It was better for me to trade out a game and then use the points to get a decent game in return instead of some random 100 pointer.  I was nervous as hell but it worked out beautifully in the end.
