My excitement for the New Exchange has turned to disappointment. I'm becoming less confident as the weeks pass that it's going to be even remotely what I expected or useful in any way to me. I expected a high priced alternative that would allow me to jump the Queue and snag a copy of a game I'm not willing to wait for.
I'm still trying to figure out what situation the actual Exchange selections are catering to.
I'm not trying to put down the Exchange in general. I love the idea but I figured after it being active for this long I'd get some use out of it.

Something we all learn here eventually is that if you expect something to be done in a week, give it a month. The G-Team can only do so many things at once.

Rather than charging $1.25 for a token, how about they just get rid of the crazy 50% off offers. Who actually pays $1.00 for a trade token, almost every single one of mine since I decided I'd start using this regularly has been .50.
The 50% off sales are pretty much what ruined the exchange IMO.
ETA: Wait, I see they actually have gotten rid of those and capped it at 25%. Good thing I got my 120 tokens for $60 before that happened. It'll probably be over a year before I need more of those.

DAMNIT! You are right, they did change it $90 for 120 tokens instead of $60 for 120.... CRAP! And I need to buy more soon..... ugh

Yeah I thought they changed those prices when I went to buy 5 today. They made it look like the prices are the same but now you can buy 24 for $24 where it used to be 30, IIRC.
i must say I used the exchange and got uncharted 2. It Was well Worth the 2400 points. i Hope to See Smackdown vs Raw 2010 on the Exchange. Looking forward to it, just hope they add it
I thought this would be good to post here for those who may have missed it. This is a quote from Blackcoyote in a recent online interview:"As part of his Goozex experience, [People have] put an emphasis on an issue with queue management, which is that it sucks to be at the end of a line. It's a problem you see it all the time on Netflix, Gamefly, and other services that have queues. The benefit of the queue system is that it is fair to everyone. The negative to the queue system is that it is heavily dependent on the supply of games.
In an effort to reduce this barrier we've just rolled out two new services. The first one is a revamped Goozex Exchange, whereby members can convert points into new game sales. It's still in beta, but our goal is to introduce the opportunity to buy most games and movies and move towards a 2-for-1 deal. Send in any two top tier games and with the points earned, get at least 1 new game. The goal is to supply the site with top games and provide instant gratification. While we're in beta, we're testing pricing analysis and order fulfillment. So far with hot new releases like Uncharted 2, it has been working to our expectations.
The other development is the introduction of Instant Match, which is a new service that can immediately connect members to conduct a trade. Here the goal is to shorten the queue length for members."

ETA means something else than estimated time of arrival?!?! Or did you mean to write edit?Anyway, I agree to an extent. Although its hard to gauge just how much damage the 50% off points/tokens did... I think it had a more negative than positive effect. But that's just my opinion. Not sure what you mean by they capped it a 25%... where did you see that?I agree, they should NEVER bring back the 50% off points/tokens deal... well maybe one final time... then make a statement that it will never happen again (and hold to their word)!
ETA = Edited to Add.
The 50% off on tokens seemed to be a regular thing, not even a part of the sale. You had to buy 120 of them, but it was only $60. I got mine on 9/23. Now, it's $90 for 120, so it appears that's gone.

Thanks for that. It's easy to see why Uncharted sold well considering it was recently released and it's one of the top PS3 games. I'd like to see the same happen for big 360 releases before Christmas (NCAA Football 2010? Really?). If I wasn't able to pick up ODST cheap locally, I might have bitten on that one.
I'm just a little impatient I guess.
That would seem to indicate one of two things:
1) They are going to raise the cap to 1200 on top titles.
2) They are going to lower the asking price to 2000 in the exchange.
IMO #1 is going to happen one of these days. First time they caved entirely. 2nd time they bent a little and only did CE's and stuff. 3rd time it's just gonna happen. :) Points have been devalued some via these sales, there's no way around it.
i was hopin to see new games added by now..i think its been the same DS and psp games there for the last 3 weeks
Update on the Exchange!
Today we are releasing some new items! Please remember, the exchange is currently in Beta. We are still testing and improving as we continue to receive feedback from the community. There is now a max order limit on items (not just per user); so first come, first served this time around. "Get it while supplies last"
Now it's starting to look promising. If I hadn't gotten a deal on MW2 and L4D2 from Amazon already I'd be all over it. Keep it up!
There are some good deals up on there right now, liking the pre order option through the exchange. Keep up the good work!!
