PSWii60 Elite:People forget, If you take 3 newer games that are worth about 800+ points on Goozex and trade them in at GS you are only going to get one new, at best. On Goozex you get about 2400+ points.
Which = 1 new game (Uncharted 2) so that math means Goozex =gamestop
wow, for the first time i actually agree w/ hexpane.
The idea of 2400 points for a new game is still a total and utter slap in the face. Instead of buying ODST on the exchange like I wanted I used 1250 points buying available games and trading them to gamestop to get enough to buy the game.
When buying games to flip to gamestop is SIGNIFICANTLY better deal you know you're system is completely awful.

I was clearly referring to the exchange
Anyone else remember the good ol' days when people could have different opinions and people would not take things such as the exchange personally?

An optional service, that while initially stumbled onto the scene, seems to be gaining in popularity.
It's been covered thoroughly why we can't have Goozex offering new games for a meager 1200 or whatever trivial number people want. 2400 is pushing it, but still reasonable enough if you MUST have new but can't be bothered to pay cash.

If borderlands were 2000 points I'd probably trade in dirt 2 and Shift for it. I know i'm getting ripped off I guess but it's my choice and I really want that game without my wife beating me up

OMG I'm posting about the exchange ...in the EXCHANGE thread.
There is a wide range between 1200 and 2400
2400 is in no way shape manner or form reasonable like you claim. When you can literally add random available games from your que and turn 2400 points into 90-120 $ in credit at "zomg evil!" gamestop there is a huge issue. The whole point of this site is that it isn't a gamestop ripoff isn't it? The way the new exchange is run is in exact opposition to the tone of the rest of the website. Hence me posting.

The exchange gives people the option of using their points for new games. It is only an option and as such I cant see how it affects the rest of Goozex. If you dont like it dont use it. I dont like the pricepoint but I understand it since points have no value and most people didnt pay for points so Goozex isnt making a profit off of this.
My personal take is that this whole thing is pretty overpriced, but if Goozex can sell points and 5 cents a piece and then get them out of the sysyem at 2.5 cents a piece more power to them. I don't see how this really jives with the caps on used games all that much, and see where people are taking exception there, but whatever.

...and then the anonymity of the internet happened.
I don't get why people are actually taking offense at the Exchange service. If you don't like it, it's your opinion and in some ways understandable, but why make it sound like Goozex is trying to insult you?
Depending on your points balance, how much you paid for the games you traded and the relative value of the game your thinking about getting....it's actually is a good value for some and the rough equivalent to trading to Gamestop for others.
For the bazillionth time, the key word here is : OPTIONAL

See, you can actually do this. Just not here. You could sell both of these games on the used market outside of Gamestop (ebay, Amazon, etc) which would give you enough cash to buy Borderlands. Probably even have some left over. If you intend to use your points in the exchange, you're essentially getting 2.5 cents per point so you're getting $25 for each of those games. Well below their used market pricing anywhere except Gamestop. This is where I think that it really starts to diverge from the used price caps this site, and causes some issues. But hey, if they can sell points at 5 cents and then get them back at 2.5, more power to them. Also - at Gamestop, you can walk in, trade the game, and walk out with your new title. Here you can't use points that you haven't gotten feedback on yet, so you have to send out the games, wait for them to arrive, wait for those guys to leave feedback, then wait a couple days for the game to get to you via the exchange. Gamestop is probably more convenient overall for most people in that regard.
Perhaps it's just that they realized they sold a boatload of points at 2.5 cents each via sales, and can't very well put a more realistic price tag on this without taking a loss. But what do I know.
I know we won't put it to rest but, we get it. The exchange is a ripoff to YOU. To others it is not a ripoff. If you find it unreasonale, just don't use it. If you want to take games out of the goozex community and sell them at gamestop, that is an option to you as well.
God forbid anyone posts besides "omg so kool guyz here rip me off!" without getting trolled
