I loved this anime, Trigun. I searched high and low for a (reasonably priced) copy of the DVD box set. As much as I loved it, $80+ for 26 episodes was a tad high for my wallet...

And then Goozex initiated DVD trading, and it was one of the very first items I requested...AND I FINALLY GOT IT! INITIATE SUPER EXCITEMENT!!

Thanks, Goozex and relatively new user that shipped that massive box set!

Very cool! Trigun is one of my favorite animes. It's up there with Photon. If you haven't seen that you need to do yourself a favor and see it!

Congrats. Absolutely my favorite anime. High in line for the limited box sets, but doubtful they'll trade on here. Plus I can't bring myself to put them up as I have the whole set from the first time around (not in box, but with the limited chrome cards).

Now that I think about it.....I spend 30 apiece on those 8 DVDs as they came out.....wow.

But worth it.

Tried the manga yet?

Haven't heard of Photon, but I'll drop it on my list.

I've been reading a fair amount of manga lately, but haven't made it to Trigun, yet. Right now I read 5 or 6 on a weekly basis and a couple more on a monthly basis. I tend to alternate between spending a couple weeks reading a new manga to completion and watching a new anime to completion.

Right now I'm on the One Piece anime (episode 170 of 400+ Indifferent). I know a lot of people don't like that one, but I read the manga and enjoyed it!

Trigun's is interesting. My understanding is that the manga went well, so they started the anime. Unfortunately, they wanted the anime done before Nightow had invented all of it, so he had to make an ending. Then, as he continued his manga, he said "why don't I just do what I want" and ended it differently. So halfway through, you get a different story. Plus, like the first 5 episodes of the series never happened in the manga, and he re-used characters he liked, because he could. It's an interesting mix. There's things I prefer about the anime, and things I prefer about the manga. I would have loved seeing the upcoming MOVIE!!!! :) make use of the manga storyline.

That's pretty similar how it went with Full Metal Alchemist. Probably the first anime I really fell in love with.

First half of the show, they were following the anime pretty closely. By the second half, they were completely different and it became its own thing. They've actually been remaking the anime..with the intent on following the manga this time, but I haven't seen it, yet. The original show was quite excellent, so I'm excited to see this remake.

I saw this and really wanted to keep up with but moved and lost cable for a time and internet. I believe Hulu has these so I'll hopefully catch back up with it. Full Metal Alchemist is definitely one of my favorite animes.

Yeah, FMA is really amazing. Beautiful art and excellent voice acting, I just fell in love with that show more than any other.

A lot of people didn't like how it ended (or how the movie closed the series), but, I loved it (won't say more, no spoilers from me!).

Hulu only appears to have the reboot series, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I'll have to watch that sometime. To see the original, you'll have to look elsewhere. Personally, I bought the box sets. A little pricey, but I've already watched them three times through...

I love sharing Trigun with others. I've probably seen the entire series nine times now.
